We decided to spend the night at Kwelanga on our roadtrip from Windhoek to Cape Town. Tired from driving over 800 km in a day, we were pleased to find the location of the lodge to be so close to the border post and the highway - it really is conveniently located. The lodge has a stunning location overlooking the Orange River. We spent sometime on the riverbank admiring the views and were told that the lodge also offers river activities for those who are keen. To our luck, that night was the blue super moon so watching the full moon over the river while sipping on some drinks was really so magical. The chalet we booked was clean, fully equipped, and very comfortable to stay in. Though we had our own food, we decided to try the pizza and Cathy's homemade chutney which we loved. However, the best part of our stay was meeting Cathy; she really is a very warm and welcoming host who gives her guests personalised attention. Not only did she make our stay a breeze (even being accommodating of our payment method!) but also gave us recommendations for the remaining leg of our drive to Cape Town. Thank you! My family and I will be recommending you to anyone we know crossing the border!

Our experience was amazing! We arrived quite late and the owner (very nice lady) was waiting for us! Her with the amazing team cooked a very good and quick dinner. The room was very beautiful, very big and spacious, with Orange River view and we slept really well! In the morning we had breakfast in our room and we saw a few animals (funny monkey:)) I really recommend to sleep here before crossing the border to Namibia also because they can give you a lot of tips on Namibia, what to see, what to be aware of …. Great place!

On our road trip back from Windhoek to George, we happily chose to spend the night at Kwelanga. We had enjoyed our stay there on the way up, and since it’s such a clean, well-managed, and organized place, we eagerly decided to try it again—and we were so glad we did! A big thank you to Cathy for your warm hospitality and helpful travel advice, plus for letting us enjoy a little piece of much-needed 'lawn' to stand on. Thank you! We will be recommending you to anyone we know crossing the border

Kwelanga's competent, friendly and kind owners, Cathy and Adrian, saved us from a right pickle when we could go no further on our Day 1 of our three day river rafting adventure booked with a neighbouring lodge. When we arrived at their Lodge at 18:30 in the evening, because we could simply go no further after a whole day on the river battling the elements, they offered us a safe place to camp and the use of all their facilities. |They received us at Kwelanga with such kindness and compassion, and went out of their way to make our stay with them super pleasant.|Kwelanga offers neat, grassed campsites, sparkling clean ablution facilities, a well-stocked bar and inviting swimming pool. Some campsites have private bathrooms. They have river rafting onsite and friendly and knowledgeable guides. Highly...
