This guesthouse appears to be newly built or renovated, and is therefore almost clinically clean. We liked the fact that it did not feature any frills. Our room (no. 8) facing the town below was spacious and very neat, with king-sized beds and exceptionally nice bedlinen. The en suite bathroom sported a shower and a massive bath.||||We were welcomed by Bester, a large man with a kind heart. He was suffering from a bad cold, but made us feel welcome, indicating that the rooms no longer offered coffee making facilities, but that guests were welcome to use the kitchen to make coffee or tea.||||The next morning this large man (never trust a skinny chef) was there alone preparing a sumptuous breakfast of bacon and eggs, mutton sausage, creamy mushrooms (his secret recipe) and baked beans and toast. On the side were cereals, yoghurt, fruit and juices. A great way to start the day.||||Whilst helping to rid the car windscreen of ice that formed in the night, he let slip that the owner wanted him in attendance at White Nama as he needed someone he could trust. Bester's background is working on a fishing trawler, which he loved. This guest (me) believes he is an asset.||||The guesthouse seems to cater for conferences, with a boardroom. The overall impression is of cleanliness, but lacking somewhat in atmosphere, e.g. there is no lounge to relax with a book. The bar area is too small to cater...
Read moreWell fitted out rooms that were spotless. We had a full bathrooms(bath, shower, toilet). |There is a bar downstairs and dining area upstairs. Braai facilities available as well.|| I would say the only possible negative could be that noisy or loud guests could disturb others due to the layout and proximity. We were aware of this and were quiet during morning breakfasts, evening coffee. Perhaps a door to separate the upper dining area from the rooms or just courtesy from guests.||All staff were friendly.|Saving, the best for last was the manager and chef, Bester. You're an awesome guy! |The most friendly and helpful person we've met in years and what a chef. Awesome breakfasts! And was a pleasure to engage with too. Thank you, Bester, you're worth your...
Read moreThis is a nice new guesthouse on the outskirts of town, right at the base of a hill. Most of the guesthouses in the area have been around for a while and dare I say could use an update. So I was happy to find this place and I really hope it does well. The rooms are rather large and so are the bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable and we found the overall appearance to be clean and well looked after. Still a few finishing touches to be done as they are quite new still but we were very happy. The host is great and always on hand and available 24/7. We didn't take the breakfast option but it looked great. We were allowed to use the kitchen area and they have braai facilities also which is a bonus. Would definitely...
