We booked one night at Halyards Hotel for our anniversary. Upon arrival we were told to go to room no 4. Luckily for us the maintenance guy was on hand to help us with our luggage (I broke my foot and was on crunches). Room 4 is a disgrace - the smell is overpowering, dampness everywhere, The bedside tables disgusting, Thick black mold everywhere in the bathroom. We complained and asked for a refund, They then moved us to room 40. This is right across from the laundry pump / waste water outlet... a makeshift disaster - water everywhere extremely foul smelling. Housekeeping arrived and apologized about the 2 single beds and changed to a double, one had a base cover the other did not. TV did not work - We reported this 3 times, one to housekeeping and twice to reception desk. We are still waiting for any response. The toilet door handle is completely loose and a struggle to open the door when closed in, the toilet seat (wooden with a crack) smells like ten year old urine. We found the kettle inside a cupboard, your furniture cannot last. The electrical wall sockets are all exposed and covers just hanging loose. After unpacking we went to the bar / pool area and I nearly fell - the floor planks gave way. one of the bartenders saw it happen and came over to inspect - Remember I am on crunches, he said that the floor was in a bad condition and apologized. The ladies restroom, across the bar - hand drier out of order. No towels available. We asked about dinner , lady at reception said dinner only available from the dining room (later we discovered we could have ordered from the bar. Food in the dining room was poorly prepared, cold as in heated up, dry and tasteless, showed in heaps on the plate. We have been going to Halyards for years. This was one major...
Read moreThe place is beautiful located around great attractions, rooms are old dated too spacious but not inviting. Shower extremely small, can't even bend and pick up soap inside . Place needs renovation!! Interior decor is very lacking.
Service of staff sucks, they don't have essence of customer service.
Limiting menu options.Kitchen staff are dead including serving ladies, not customer oriented.
Hotel does not have enough activities to intertain guess and collaborate with nearby attractions and "to go places" to keep the experience of visitors vibrant.
A bar fridge in the room is a must!
The dinning hall needs total revamping, from chairs tables, setup, curtains, not to mention how dirty the windows were, can't even see clearly the cannal view while sitting in the dinning hall. Simple things go a long way.
Marketing and delivering what was marketed is key to manage visitors expectations the boat cruise was a disappointment.
Spa ladies need a full training and be thought to be cusyomer centric! The level of rudeness to the sucks!
The laundry room is a pig stile, you are fearing of yourself while there, it's stuffy with unpleasant oddo, you are not sure if a snake will just to you while chasing a todd/frog. I counding iron my white dress cause the ironing board was so dirty with different stains.
Room service sucks too, how do u arrive in a hotel with a shower clocked with soap stains on the shower glass as even it last washed months ago? And through out our stay, the lady never cleaned the shower.
Overall the hotel needs new managent, servicing team and personnel as well as resources.

My recent visit to The Halyards Hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. The condition of the rooms leaves much to be desired, and the level of cleanliness and maintenance is far below acceptable standards.
Upon entering the room, I was immediately hit with a strong, moldy smell. A closer inspection revealed mould on the mattresses and soap scum buildup in the showers on both the floors and walls. The general state of cleanliness was alarming and certainly did not meet the expectations one would have for a hotel of this standard.
Maintenance is another glaring issue. The fans and air conditioners are non-functional and appear to be purely decorative, offering no relief in warm weather. The toilet ran continuously, wasting water and causing unnecessary noise. Additionally, the ceilings appear hastily patched up with potty filler, and the paintwork is either incomplete or poorly done.
We asked to see other rooms, but the alternative options were in equally poor condition. For the price charged per night, it is appalling to receive accommodations in this state.
Considering the hotel is located on the Marina and claims to be a 3-star establishment, one would expect a much higher standard of upkeep. Sadly, the experience fell far short of expectations. I would strongly recommend that management invest in deep cleaning, proper maintenance, and overall improvement of the facilities to match the beautiful location...
