What bother me the most of the place is...... There are 2 cats on the premises and when I ask the staff if they feed the cats the answer was: "No, then they will come back". I have news for you, they are already here, and they made this place their home.... Not feeding animals, or looking after animals say a lot about a person's character.... Their lack of compassion, empathy and care for others..... Not only that, but not feeding them is Cruelty to animals...... If this place is taking part in animal cruelty I have nothing good to say about them.... They lack humanity and in my opinion the worse you can get.... So unless they change their approach towards the cats and all other animals, I regard them as inhumane and crual...... Other than being crual to animals....
The atmosphere is nice and quiet, the rooms are spacious and well equipped. I didn't like the shower and the basin. The basin make me thinks of open a tap on a plate, water splash allover. Either you are wet or the area around you are wet... It looks nice, but isn't practical at all. Same with the shower, there is water all over the floor and you have to dry the floor once you're done..... On the day of my arrival, there was no hot water in my room, I had to shower in another room until they fixed it the next afternoon. The food is OK, not what you expect of a 5...

Urgently Improvements are Needed:
When you want to warm food you should go to restaurants reception and request, and at 21h00, they're closing.
If you want a snack in the late hours, you're on you own.
Maintenance of Drainage System Please maintain your drainage system for showers when you bath, the water accumulates (can't flow out properly) and it becomes a swimming pool
Provide iron so that if any guest want to ironing clothes whether early in the morning or late at night...can do so freely without bothering hotel assistants.
Breakfast Issues: Additional menu of breakfast shall be added current menu is very limited, and all breakfast items should be placed in an open table and guests should dish up themselves and choose food items they wish to eat.
Improve your kitchen equipment...it takes time for hotel assistant to prepare toasted...

We stayed at the eco luc komatipoort on the night of 16 April 2025 as part of a tourgroup from toerbroers. We were supposed to stay at Bucklers lodge but was moved to Ecolux. It is clear that this seems like a last minute arrangement. On arrival they did not have our names. The keys to the rooms were randomly issued out. No proper reception. No porters available. Our fridge in the room was not on and the bottle water supplied was not cold. There were no rusks as displayed on the photos. Not even something sweet on the bed as displayed on the internet photos. The next morning at 05.15 there was a power trip. We could not make coffee. We had to shower in the dark. By the time the power was on we were all sitting at the restaurant area. We asked if we might have coffee but we were told that we got coffee in the rooms. Some tour members beds were not even made upon arrival.
