A Truly Unforgettable Stay at the Edge of the Kruger
From the moment I arrived at the lodge, I knew this was going to be something special. I had booked as a single traveler, but soon found that what awaited me was far more than just a comfortable room—it was an experience that touched the heart.
Russ, my host, welcomed me with such warmth that I instantly felt at home. On my very first evening, I asked him to stay at the lodge and spend the time with me—and I’m so glad he did. Our evenings quickly turned into late-night conversations under the African sky, sharing stories, laughter, and insights about life and nature. Every night we had a braai (barbecue), and one evening Russ treated me to his delicious homemade bean soup, which I will never forget.
The location is simply extraordinary. The lodge sits just about 60 meters from the Kruger Park fence, giving uninterrupted, breathtaking views into the wild. We went on stunning walks and were rewarded with incredible sightings—buffalo, hippo, elephant, giraffe, and even a tiny chameleon crossing our path. Each encounter felt magical, and Russ’s deep knowledge of the bush made every moment richer. I learned so much about the wildlife, plants, and the rhythms of the African wilderness.
The lodge itself is modern, spotless, and full of character. The staff are genuinely friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. One of my favorite moments was simply sitting by the swimming pool, gazing out into the bush, listening to the sounds of the wild drifting in from the park. The atmosphere is tranquil yet alive, a perfect balance that’s hard to find.
Russ is not just a host—he’s a storyteller, a nature guide, and a friend. This place is a gem, and I will definitely be telling my family and friends about it. I know I’ll be back, because some experiences are simply too good not to repeat.

We had a random drunk man tress passing the property and tried to get us to unlock and go out side to "scan" something and we called security who arrived in ample time and notified us they don't know the name or picture of the host, they also notified us the house is not covered under their security company and can't stay for long. We had to adjust and stay in a filthy environment with no safety and no electricity, which is not ideal for young women, the host is a careless person who will leave you to fend for yourselves in the most preposterous and...
Read moreWe had a truly relaxing and comfortable stay at Imvuko Safari Lodge in Marloth Park, right next to Kruger National Park. The setting was peaceful, surrounded by the beauty of the bushveld, and provided the perfect escape and a way to experience the African bushveld.
The accommodation is beautifully decorated and extremely pleasant and comfortable. It was so perfect having our own boma, braai area and a big swimming pool right outside. We enjoyed the stunning, fully equipped kitchen. We love to prepare meals together, so it was a pleasure making a feast for everyone.
Our host, Petrus (aka Russ) was not only welcoming, but also highly knowledgeable about the bushveld, sharing fascinating insights that enriched our experience. One evening, he cooked us a delicious potjiekos and joined us around the fire. He shared fascinating stories about the bush, animal behaviour, bird calls, and the ecosystems around us. His passion for the area was clear and made our stay even more special. He helped us identify night sounds: a white-faced owl, hippos in the river, elephants trumpeting, and in the early morning hours, a leopard grunting at a distance. It was an unforgettable, beautiful evening, filled with the magic of the wild.
Another highlight of our stay was the Zebras and various buck that came right up to the house, so we could feed them lucerne pellets we obtained from the local shop.
