If you are fortunate enough to arrive on a sunny afternoon, make sure you enter the property slowly so you can take in the beautiful scene that greets you - sunlight filtering through the trees that line the driveway. We were so in awe we did not even think to look for our phones to take a picture. After a warm and informative welcome from Rita we made our way to the Lakeside Cottage. Colourful flowers greeted us at the door to this one bedroom, two bathroom cottage. The kitchen is amazing for a two-sleeper unit - very modern and large - probably one of the best we've experienced. Everything was spotlessly clean and all you needed for self catering was on hand.The lounge with a fireplace opens onto the covered patio that overlooks the lake. We spent most of our weekend on the comfortable chairs taking in the peace and beautiful scenery. I'm currently holidaying in the breathtakingly beautiful Drakensberg mountains, at a secluded and serene destination called "Emafweni" - which translates to "In the Clouds" in Zulu.

Our cottage, nestled in a 360-degree mountain range, faces west, offering the most spectacular sunset views. The ever-changing sky, with its jagged-edged silhouette mountains, is a photographer's dream come true!

As the sun rises behind us, the symphony of bird songs is nothing short of magical. The picturesque flora, including stunning hydrangeas, adds to the charm of this enchanting getaway.

The cottage is fully equipped, comfortable, and serviced by friendly staff. It's the perfect retreat for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Location, location, location! Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage. Closest you will ever get to the mountains. Views are exceptional. Peace and tranquility. The cottage is rustic, unique and has its own charm. Loved it. You can take a short walk to the back of the property, there is a lovely stream with crystal clear water.
