Nerf-Af-Cottage & ROOMs — Hotel in Overstrand Local Municipality

We had a wonderful stay at Nerf-af Cottage and stayed in the King's room. We were road tripping from Caledon via Hemel-en- Aarde wine valley to Cape Town and wanted a place to overnight and do the Hermanus parkrun on Saturday morning. What a lucky find! The property is owned and run by Serina & Eugene Chambers and a more hands on, passionate couple you couldn't wish to meet. The room is stylishly decorated with creative touches by Serina who is also the owner of a vintage shop, Nerf-af in Onrus. The King size bed is dressed in crisp white luxurious linen and was incredibly comfortable. An outside door opens up onto a patio area where we had coffee in the morning with rusks supplied by Serina. We also enjoyed sundowners and dinner on the patio. The room has a bar fridge and a microwave, as well as a table inside the room. The cutlery and crockery is magnificent and makes you feel like you're in France. Serina and Eugene also suggested some lovely places to visit which we did and can recommend. Milkwood Restaurant, Moltenos Restaurant, Heartbeat Cafe, Hermanus Country Market (Saturdays) The Hermanus parkrun is an absolute must if you're there on a Saturday morning at 8am in the Hermanus Forest. If longer distances are your thing you can run along the cliff path from the New Harbour in Hermanus to Grotto Beach which is 11km. There really is so much to do that a weekend will definitely not be enough time to do everything on offer, but if you're looking to rest and recharge and just slow down the pace, it's that place too!
