This was a quick 2 night stay- a mixture of business and pleasure for us. Alison was very helpful in assisting with details required for a quick booking through our organisation's booking agency. Our booking was based on the bed & breakfast format (although the room allowed for self-catering) and she was very accommodating in arranging breakfast times to suit scheduled appointments. On-site, safe parking and gated access was useful as we used a hire car. ||||The area is suburban, peaceful and with little traffic other than at peak commuting times. Quick access to the highway and to either the Rondebosch side of the mountain (UCT/ Baxter/ Kirstenbosch and route to Hout Bay), the Cape Town city centre, the routes to the cable car and to highways leading to the airport, Stellenbosch, West Coast or False Bay are an added advantage for business traveller and tourist alike.||||The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The Garden room had a king size, extra length bed, airconditioning, electric blanket for winter and a fire place. The bathroom had a large shower. Comfortable chairs, a chaise lounge, writing/ computer table and a range of plug points for charging devices and access to wifi. Catering facilities included a small fridge (milk & juices) and microwave, crockery and cutlery. A kettle for hot drinks (provided) and rusks (dunking "biscuits" in the South African tradition). As a tea lover I appreciated the choices: Rooibos, 5 Roses black tea and Earl Grey. ||||Breakfast was according to personal choice- continental or cooked/ English breakfast; lovely fresh fruit (in our case seasonal grapes & strawberries) and generous portions. A tranquil breakfast setting to start the day; with excellent personalised service and beautiful table settings.||||Alison will also advise on services/ areas of interest if asked: We found the Magica Roma Italian Restaurant excellent ( specifically as they had imported gluten-free pasta) and spent a wonderful morning at The Old Biscuit Mill flea...
Read moreWe spent four nights at Invergara as a home base while visiting the Cape Town area. Perfect location for visiting the city and a way to avoid Cape Town traffic when touring outside the city. We stayed in the cottage and Alison was very accommodating, even contacting her personal insurance agent to clarify an issue around Liability Insurance for me as well as providing some pharmacy guidance for us when we arrived on her doorstep with bad coughs. Lovely home, great breakfast on the first morning, responsive and timely communications pre-arrival. Would I recommend or stay again! Absolutely!...
Read moreWe loved our stay at Invergara Lodge over Christmas, it was such a lovely cottage and double room! Everything you need in the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen, and the decor is really pleasant. Alison was such a charming and helpful hostess, making us feel very at home, with lovely touches including a Christmas tree and Christmas chocolates on our pillows. Pinelands is a good centrally located suburb for exploring Cape Town, though on a sunny day lying by the pool is a great option too! She also checked the Cable Car opening for us early one morning so that we could get there ASAP. Thanks...
