Little Scotia Guest House — Hotel in Rondebosch

To be fair, some of my colleagues like the place and use it a lot. It has a good and convenient location for people who are going to University of Cape Town, Newlands Sports Ground or Groote Schuur Hospital. The breakfast is very good. The staff were OK. There was a nice garden/courtyard area. And to some extent my view was jaundiced by being there in the wet gloomy middle of Cape Town's Winter. But the room looked a bit shabby and felt musty and damp. I'm very slightly asthmatic and there was something in there that made me wheezy. The air conditioner gave trouble. There was an odd arrangement of a couple of inserted steps between the bed room and the bathroom - the kind of thing one could easily have a an accident on at night. The bathroom was not well designed. The front wall of the room was mainly glass, which meant that if you opened up the curtains you felt very exposed. We were not really comfortable in the room and I got sick with a chest infection. We moved to another hotel and were much happier there. I can't really recommend...

My daughters and I arrived early December 2021 for a ten day stay at Little Scotia. The best decision I made. ||The place was safe and secure which was the most important aspect for me. We were able to come in and go out at our convenience with our access tag to the place. It was clean, neat, restful and we had all the help we required. Our room was our haven and sanctuary in the evening while we enjoyed late afternoons sitting right outside our room. The staff are friendly, kind, passionate about our stay, the conversations were great, the advice and direction for the days outing help a great deal. ||It is a home away from home, a place you never want to leave and believe you me I was...

Staff welcoming and helpful, it's an older place , lots of separate rooms and suites, which has been renovated with charming little nooks in which to sit, drink coffee and chat. Pool looked inviting, easy chairs around area.Gardens lovely, clean, comfortable bed, lovely linen. Honesty bar operating and easy to order out for food. Unfortunately there were endless power outages when I was there, not the guest house's fault but rather dampened the mood on occasion. They did have generator but no plugs , of course. Did get one breakfast, really delicious egg and bacon and lots of choice and all appetizing and well presented. Enjoyed my time there, would like to go again when NO...
