Hillsview — Hotel in Roodepoort

No Power Backup as claimed by previous reviews.We had to endure four hours plus without any electricity. No covered parking for my vehicle, and I own a vehicle with a wrap that simply cannot be left in the sun. We stayed in the Executive Suite, which is supposedly the best room on offer. Basic amenities inside the "suite" like a table, or a chair, was not present. We had to sit and eat on the bed because of that. As if we weren't uncomfortable enough, the main door is glass and everyone can see what you are doing the moment you go to the kitchen or the broken cupboard with no hangers, so we had to live out of our suitcase. You pay a thousand rand plus for the Executive Suite per night, mind you, only to feel like you have just checked into a University dorm room. The Mattress on the bed is rock hard, I didn't know somebody sells a mattress that hard. The shower has no door. You stand in the open and shower.Needless to say, we checked out early losing a full nights worth of a paid-for stay, because staying here was literally that unbearable. We literally felt better about losing/forfeiting our hard-earned money than staying here for another night....

Service was great, staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone to check in when ever they need a time off or when stranded. They have Dstv and the rooms...

Stayed there for my birthday weekend on the 24 September 2021 and it was excellent, from the staff to the location and service. It was a great getaway indeed, going there...
