Hadida Guest House — Hotel in Sol Plaatje Local Municipality

Spent a night there on our way back to CT and although there were certain touches like sealed and fresh towels, roller towel, coffee, sugar, well placed plug points for cell chargers, comfy mattress, clean bedding etc., I'm glad we only stayed one night.

The outside table and chairs were dirty and rickety. The tap in the shower came off in my hand when opening it, couches have years of dirt and crumbs on the seat and needless to say, we didn't sit on it.

The place itself was clean except for the things I mentioned and was probably an awesome place when they opened many years ago. Now it's just tired old buildings with broken gutters in need of serious maintenance and an upgrade.

We however did find their parking to be safe and adequate.

We were going to wake up at 04H00 the next morning for an early start, but was woken up at 03H00 instead by loud noises/voices from next door which carried on till when we left at just after 04H00. They do provide a 24 hour number to call for emergencies and complaints, but I didn't bother as it wouldn't have helped waking anyone up at that time. We booked with them especially because of their great reviews, but the place we stayed in, was definitely not worth the rave...

The first nights stay wasn't bad other then the beds beings as hard as bricks and the Aircon making weird clunking sounds.we ended up sitting up sleeping in the lounge after the unit next to us was carrying on top volume and banging stuff throughout for ages, the sliding door also doesn't lock...the lock mechanism doesn't even come close to each other. The second stay a week later we didn't even attempt the beds and also discovered not only did the stove not work at all...the microwave was dirty inside and stunk of old food, the plates in the cupboards were dirty and oily along with some of the cutlery as well as the unit stinking of smoke. Had a really wonderful sleepover on route back to Johannesburg. We were a large group (7) but managed to find a single unit to sleep everyone. Unit was clean and had everything you needed. Towels are provided wrapped in plastic so you know they are clean. We ordered breakfast for 5 people (based on reception's advise) and we couldn't finish it all. It arrived exactly on time and was really good. We left our trailer while we went to the Big Hole and came back for it after check out time. Overall really great service and friendly staff. They even helped someone jump start their car after leaving their lights on (even though I called someone on duty the night before to try...
