The room I stayed in was really beautiful and luxurious while being comfortable. The android box connection to the TV which allowed me to stream music from YouTube or even watch dstv was a favorite in the room. However, unfortunately the extrctor fan in the bathroom was very noisy, which kind of made it impossible to use it at night cause the light switch is connected to the extrctor fan. But at least I could use the bathroom in the morning when the beautiful kimberley sun rises and lit up the luxurious bathroom with a bath and a shower. The strict rules applied by the guest house is a bit too restrictive, it's understandable that it is Covid 19 still, but we are currently on lockdown level 2. Which means regulations have been eased and we can't keep using Covid19 as excuse to not provide the best services clients. Thirdly and probably the most important is the friendliness of the staff. I did not really feel welcomed to this accommodation, as the receptionist had a very cold and distant attitude that made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, luckily my room made me feel comfortable. This was my first time in Kimberley and to basically get a welcome like this was not really what one want when experiencing a place for the first time. Finally, I think a bit of tlc to the pool area would also provide the guest with an even more luxurious feel because it would look like the place actually being looked after.
I really loved the interior design in the room I stayed it. I am a fanatic when it comes to attention to detail and the detail in my room was just impeccable. From the way the patterns on the curtain matches the furniture and the beautiful beige color is aesthetically used through the room to the bathroom. The beautiful beads on the window curtains in the shower is a unique style and it adds to the luxury of this place.
Breakfast could be better, if the covid 19 regulations are eased, since we are on level 2.
At the end I think this was one of the most beautiful and comforting rooms I've stayed in this year, so all in all I enjoyed my stay at the Kimberley...
Read moreOld charm gone wrong ||||This was a wonderful guesthouse in the past and we have stayed there many times.||||The first thing that alerted us that something was amiss, was that it was impossible to get through to the guesthouse on the phone. So I had to book through Booking.com to make a reservation.||||It turns out that the guesthouse does not have staff after 17:00 and at 18:00 o’clock our family friend came to visit us and called the intercom as he had left his phone at home. The owner of the guesthouse, who lives on the property, began to swear and threaten our guest with police because he was trespassing on his territory and this was interfering with his evening plans. ||||Then he very roughly and rudely kicked out our friend onto the street and walked to our room where my wife was by herself and started screaming at her that he will open a police case. This was really frightening for all of us as we were the only guests at the guesthouse at the time and we were not warned that we couldn't have a family friend come visit to say hello when we're passing through town.||||We packed our bags up immediately and left as we were too scared to stay at the guest house since it was only us and the owner on the property. We had to drive and look for new accommodation so we felt safe, there was space at the Protea Mariott where we knew no one would be screaming at us at 7pm in the evening. ||||Really unfortunate as this used to be a lovely place to stop over but will stick to the main hotels...
Read moreGood morning. I would like to share my experience at Kimberly Manor Guest House. I was booked for 2 nights. When I arrived and checked in I noticed there was a water pressure issue in the toilet and basin. I assumed it was a municipal issue and I waited it out until the morning. To no avail the water was barely dripping from the taps. I eventually used my own bottled water to bath out of the basin. When I went for breakfast I met a man and asked If there was a water issue to which he replied the water pump tripped and now it's sorted. This was at 7:50am. He said the person who lives on the premises didn't inform him so it's not his problem. He then came to my table whilst I was having breakfast as I had asked for the owner. His tone was very aggressive throwing his hands up and being very erratic. I asked him if I could kindly have my breakfast, to which he replied he does not want anything to do with our company's booking lady or myself. I should leave his premises immediately. I felt very threatened and unsafe. I humbly packed my stuff and left his establishment. Not the way an owner should respond to a client's concern regarding water issue at their establishment. I will not recommend a stay at this...
