Our wedding was 28th March 2023 The initial meet and greet with Marieta and Peter was great.. I was referred by Natalie Potgieter who was the first bride to marry there and this won me over...
We had both our batchelortte 14 March and wedding there 28th March. So you can imagine we spent a fortune to say the least. Eikenhof wedding estate is beautiful The road is terribly bumpy ...
When it comes to emails and follow up close to the time I must admit this is where the unprofessionalism starts. Then coming up to finalizing last payments owing they have a pathetic system in place...we at one point for the batchelortte owed more as Marieta did not do her recons when we paid in our money for batchelortte and wedding. Wrt the batchelortte we had to resubmit our bank statements to ensure we don't overpay. With the wedding we were told we are short over 11k We ofcourse once again we had to go back in our bank statements and do our own recons as mentioned above they did not. Only to find out we had over paid.
Breakage fee deposits This one I would request people to do immediately as they are not keen to repay you and find all ways to not refund you. Because I was the co ordinater I found this exercise stressful to myself the bride and her sister who paid batchelortte venue. I checked with the waitresses at both batchelortte and wedding if glasses broke so I had record of it. When the Breakage fee of 2500 which is boldly stated on contract for batchelortte venue was requested they only paid R1500. As the co ordinator I queried this they said they made a mistake as it was always R1500.(Strange, they set up contracts and send these out so how can you all of a sudden not know it changed if its your contract)They reimburse the R1000 after clearing this up. Breakage wedding fee was R3500 After this back and forth I decided to write this review...people please keep track of everything...if you don't - what happened here to us will happen to you. After almost 6 months no correspondence came wrt our wedding Breakage fee of R3500 had not been paid.
Last week I requested it...now this takes the cake... It seemed if I did not query this they would have left this. We just found out last week a bar Tab was never paid-Wow !!!!Never have I ever I'm all my experience with venues come across this! What venue ever overlooks an unpaid bar tab for 6months and does not inform us ... By far the worst service No follow up Poor response to emails... Will not recommend them And I have prior to my event refered them because of the initial Meet and greet of Marieta and Peter . Their staff on the day was excellent But I can't say the same...
Read moreMarietta and Peter, thank you for all the hospitality that you offered leading up to the big day and on the day. Kyle and I really can't thank you enough for everything. Marietta, you have so much passion in what you do and how you communicate with clients and prospective clients. Always going the extra mile to meet the needs of your clients and being so kind in your responses.
You and your team were amazing!! No one really wants to be working on a public holiday, but you would never say it was one because they were so professional and smiling throughout the day. They were so attentive to the needs of the guests that everyone was having a good time.
I just remember your face leading up to the time of when I had to get out the car.... you really put me at ease and even fluffed my dress, haha which is not part of the job. We really can't thank you enough for all the surprises and I'm sure there were some more behind the scene moments that I'm not fully aware of, but thank you for making it a magical day for us.
The accommodation was very clean, spacious and safe. The guests at the wedding can't stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how delicious the food was. Don't even get me started on the baked cheesecake, haha!
The venue is such a hidden gem as there's a bumpy ride leading up to the estate, but don't let that deter you from the venue as one can see it has so many amazing services to offer and a team who really goes...

We had our absolute dream wedding at the breathtaking Eikenhof Estate on May 1st, 2025. From our very first meeting with the wonderful wedding coordinator Marieta and her kind husband, we knew we were in the best hands. That special day included a wedding menu tasting with the incredibly talented Chef Renshaw Adams and a mock table setup designed by one of our personally chosen décor and floral teams—it felt like a fairytale in the making.
As the bride, planning the wedding was a joyful and seamless experience, thanks in large part to the dedicated support of the Eikenhof team. Their attention to detail, warmth, and genuine passion made all the difference. We checked in two days before the wedding, and the accommodation was simply stunning—every one of our family members felt cherished and at home.
Marieta and her husband went above and beyond to bring our vision to life. Even the unexpected rain on our wedding day couldn’t dampen the magic. The raindrops only added to the enchantment, painting a picture-perfect backdrop for our celebration. As someone who works in project management, I’m used to being the one in control—but for once, I could relax and soak in every beautiful moment completely. There was no stress, just pure joy.
Our photos captured everything—the laughter, the love, and the heartfelt memories we’ll cherish forever. We danced the night away, surrounded by the people we love, and it was truly more than we could have ever dreamed of.
Thank you, Eikenhof Estate, for giving us the wedding of a lifetime.
