We had an amazing experience staying at Holden Manz. We were greeted on arrival by the lovely Lou-Ann who gave us an orientation tour which was really useful and enabled us to make the most of our visit. We stayed in suite 1 in the main house which was beautifully equipped, very comfortable and featured some amazing views of the vines and mountain beyond. Once settled in we indulged in the wine tasting and harvest platter. The staff were friendly and prompt in their service and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves sitting on the manicured lawns sipping wine and eating cheeses. The Hiro rosé was a particular favourite. Evening descended and Frank looked after us very well. From pouring some delicious Chenin Blanc on the terrace to organising a taxi into Franschhoek it was a seamless and delightful experience. We opted for his informative suggestion of the Asian fusion restaurant Yama and were delighted and sated. A return later in the evening was followed by some more wine in the beautiful lounge and engaging conversation with Frank and even the owners who popped in to have a chat. The evening concluded with us lighting the fireplace in our room followed by a fitful night sleep in a very large and very comfortable bed. We were gently awoken by farmyard noises and the breathtaking view from our bed followed by the aroma of bacon wafting up from below. A quick shower in one of the biggest bathrooms I’ve had the pleasure to use was followed by a fab breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake and mountain views. A quick stroll down to the river and the gallery concluded an all too short stay. Highest compliments to the staff and owners that have created a beautiful and unique stay to the Cape winelands experience. Can’t wait to visit...
Read moreFrom our arrival at this beautiful setting of mountain vistas and wineland expanses, we were made to feel very welcome and cared for, in a very authentic and attentive manner. The mix of interesting and varied art works, the various individual seating areas, the water features, the positioning of the building just above a cheerful brook meandering its way alongside the breadth of the property, created a very special setting, ambience and ultimately serenity. What a remarkable place to spend a few days, and take in the expansive landscape, rich and varied wine tasting experiences walks and just relaxing by the dam or the brook. We had specific dietary requirements, being vegan and gluten intolerant. This was catered for with a passion and care; and we have never experienced a breakfast at this level of creativity and tastefulness; well done! The sizeable room was catering for all our creature comforts and the fireplace added a special ambience. The "rustic" charm reflected authenticity and a lived-in and well-appreciated quality. We can only recommend it, and it made our 40 year wedding anniversary appropriately memorable. Last but not least the range & quality of wines complements the experience, at a high level of...

A heartfelt thank you to Frank and Zimasa—both of them provided excellent service throughout. Frank’s extensive knowledge of the wines available at Holden Manz truly stood out.
