HWH Guesthouse Middelburg — Hotel in Steve Tshwete Local Municipality

I’ve stayed at HWH Guesthouse twice for work purposes. While the rooms are clean, comfortable, the breakfast experience has been consistently very poor.

On my most recent visit, breakfast was prepared before I was ready, and the eggs were cold by the time I sat down. I was told to reheat them in a microwave — which is not ideal and raises health concerns. The avocado was brown, the baked beans were of very low quality, and the mushrooms were barely a spoonful. Two cold chicken Viennas were served, along with just four slices of bread for two people. The coffee was instant, served with only white sugar and cold milk, and the yogurt was a small Spar-brand cup.

There was no staff present in the dining area during breakfast, and we were left to finish on our own. Sadly, this mirrors my previous experience — no improvement at all.

HWH Guesthouse has been my home away from home for the past three months in Middleburg. A real gem of a place. It is peaceful, safe and has a good backup plan in case of loadshedding, the rooms are spacious and believe me I have slept in all of them :), hayke the service from the owner to the staff you will swear they were trained at the Swiss Hotel, they are a bunch of lovely people, very friendly, warm, they are like your family back home and always smiling from the heart and quick to help. Coming out of parking is something else....but besides that...The place is beautifully maintained. The rooms are lovely and with a modern finish. Would recommend it to anyone.

The rooms have a bar fridge, air conditioning, coffee bar, laundry services, secured parking and Housekeeping, Clean fresh linen. Lots of privacy.
