Riebeek Vista — Hotel in Swartland Local Municipality

We booked for one night and had a warm welcome by Ria and Dries from Absolute Castillo Guesthouse in town, where we had to fetch the keys. They gave us very valuable information about the area and the restaurants. Dries was leading us to Riebeek Vista and checked us in, showing us all necessary stuff. The next morning at check-out he was there again and looked after us, well done!||Riebeek Vista was recently built and is a modern building, with a just newly planted garden, braai facility and splash pool. There is no breakfast served, it is self-catering but the rooms do not have any kitchen facilities. The rooms offer coffee, tea, rusks and some port as a nice welcome.||A communal kitchen got a fridge and a microwave but no stove or oven, so if you stay longer and would like to prepare some meal, you basically are stuck to braai and microwave.||The place is in a quiet area at the end of a side road and got beautiful views, as least as long as the neighboring property is not build on, this property was for sale at the time we stayed here.||We can recommend Riebeek Vista, especially if you prefer to go out...

We had high expectations given the reviews about this place. Ruan was the worst host we have ever come across. While he apparently stayed on the property, he was never around. Very poor communication. When we arrived, we were told that the room we booked had an air conditioning issue, and while we didn’t have a problem with the second room, it would have helped if we knew ahead of time.

There are no TVs in the rooms. While this isn’t really a major issue, it would have helped having a TV in the common area. This would have made the stay more enjoyable. The shower was terrible with little to no water pressure. It looks like the property needs some maintenance to tighten a few screws here and there. The location is great with amazing views and walking distance to the town centre, with restaurants not too far. We cut our two nights stay to one because it was just not a great stay. Brilliantly run and managed. The inside decor only adds to the experience of the amazing views. And keeping cool is a breeze with the air con and splash pool.||A lovely detail was a list of local restaurants and activities with contact information which help get a sense of the area. The WiFi was fantastically fast...
