Accommodation @ Ikhanda Guesthouse & Conference Venue — Hotel in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality

During June / Jul we booked a place for a few nights. Unfortunately, our experience of staying was not very good.||1. The glass door that serves as a front door could not close (Management tells how people broke into the self-catering house the week before) ???||2) Safety gate must be lifted, otherwise it can not be unlocked at all.||3. The closet in the bedroom's door was broken and door stood on the side of the closet||4. Self-catering house has no kitchenware, only 4 plates with knives and forks, 4 cups, 2 bowls (we were 4 people) and nothing else||5. Braai in the house not even cleaned after previous guests used it, dirty flowerpots full of stumps standing at the front door/entrance of the self-catering house.||6. Room only has bed, no bedside tables, (we had to use chairs to put our stuff down, no mat on cold floor or even a bedside lamp||7) No plugs for bath, basin or sinks in kitchen. Shower dirty, not cleaned, as previous guests soap lay dirty in the shower and mild all around ||8) electric wall plug broken, kettle must be put on the floor to boil water for coffe/tee etc. ||9) the morning when we tried to hand in the key, management was "missing in action", a cleaner took the key from us and when we asked where management / reception lady was, she said "she was sleeping". It was already after 08h00 the morning. Accommodation is expensive and this certainly was not worth the money we paid for what was offered to us.||I certainly will not stay...

We took an impromptu trip last weekend and we were surprised to have gotten a place to sleep. Beautiful, clean, friendly... But then comes the inside. The toilet wasn't clean. The toilet paper wasn't full rolls.. 2 half used rolls. The bathroom door looked like it had never seen a wet cloth or soap since being installed. The curtains and blinds were working of maybe 50% total. Broken kettle, no sugar, no coffee - JUST dirty jars. NOT A SINGLE UTENSIL in the kitchenette, not a wiped counter either. The beds were squeecking like mad. Half a bum turn and I'm sure the entire place thought otherwise.. we did not sleep at all! The floor underneath the two single beds the kids slept in were full of popcorn-so obviously the floor wasn't cleaned prior to our (5hour notice) arrival. The other incoming guests at past midnight had no decency in keeping quiet, and no one told...

When we arrived - Our call at the gate past 4pm was not answered.||2. At reception the lady replied: "We had a bit of a situation" - the contractors that stayed the previous night left with the key and remote and only to find that there baggage was left in the room.||3. When I ask about the breakfast included as advertised on the Web (Safari Now) - they confirmed that breakfast came with an add fee of R90 PP. = I have send an e-mail to the guesthouse prior our stay to enquiry about the breakfast and dinner -without any response to date.||4. Down light in room is hanging from the roof.||5. No globe in bed lamp.||6. No toilet paper holder.||7. Bathroom door dirty.||8. Front door does not lock.||9. No hot water.||10. We forgot an item in the room - Nobody even tried calling to notify.||11....
