Ironwood Lodge — Hotel in uMdoni Local Municipality

Our experience with Ironwood Lodge was amazing. We loved the setup mainly because we had a fur baby (Ollie) as our travel companion. Prior to our arrival, Caron was checking in on us, and I remember on the day we made the booking she sent a pin location straight away... The place was clean, had a private garden and fresh towels provided on a daily, but most importantly for us, it felt like home... Caron is a Super Host and very accommodating. On the last day of our stay, as we prepared for checking out I was running late, super late and in turn I missed breakfast, but she insisted on me coming after breakfast hours and they kindly made me breakfast, and that kind of generosity is rare nowadays. If you want a quiet place surrounded by nature and the ocean, then Ironwood is that place. As a Bonus, you get an generous and caring host, who is genuinely concerned about the comfort and well-being of her guests at all times, again, another rare trait considering how most hosts tend to treat guests these days. Thank you so much Caron and special shout out to your staff and Covey, we loved our stay at your place, and we'll call again...

Ironwood Lodge will feel like a home away from home. Caron and Jim have skillfully crafted a tasteful and well curated staying experience. Their hospitality, friendliness, attention to detail and scrumptious breakfasts culminate in a truly wonderful experience day after day, night after night. Our stay in Jim's room was comfortable while feeling incredibly special with our eyes being drawn to the gorgeous ocean view at every opportunity. The lodge also offers a wonderful lush garden and pool area that our children especially enjoyed and is so close to the ocean that you don't even notice the five minute walk before the sea sand hits your toes. Pennington also offers something for everyone and Ironwood is the perfect home base to explore the surrounding area and attractions. Jim and Caron welcome you as if you are family. The units are beautiful and allow for rest and relaxation. The views are beautiful and we even spotted a whale from the verandah. ||Hubby is a quad and this is one of the very few places that catered for him, even having a roll in shower. ||Jim and Caron together with their helper Phindile ensure that you are well taken care of and go above and beyond to do so. Every meal is made with care and love and units are always clean. ||The views are beautiful and the pool and garden offer tranquility. ||The restaurant also has a rustic, relaxed feel.||We are already planning our trip back as a family and cannot recommend...
