Pennington Waves — Hotel in uMdoni Local Municipality

A reasonable and affordable family resort. The resort has lovely facilities. The pool and children's area are fun and entertaining enough. Our unit was mostly clean barring the dust and papers under the beds and some sticky cutlery. There is some maintenance to be done (especially in the bathroom). I loved the fact that there was a dishwasher in the unit. In general, the unit worked for our family. There is a pub right under our unit that had karaoke both the Friday nights and it was unfortunately very loud and went on far beyond the 22h00 the resort tries to adhere to on terms of noise. The beach is incredible! 5 stars to the beauty and calm. It is clean, looked after and loved. A favourite spot for people who love taking their dogs for walks. Our family loved every minute on the beach, which really is a very short walk...

Its not that I so much dislike Pennington than how such a strategic place close to a beach has not been used to its potential! First of all the railway line runs between the main shopping centre and the beach. The shopping centre is not very consumer friendly being built in a bowlike shape alienating shoppers and shops instead of a 'piazza' (round) shape, with friendly traverse of human traffic near all shops. The best place is the Impithi Beach Restaurant. Good food, good prices and a lovely view of the ocean but you have to cross the railway line to get there and on busy days there could be a parking problems... As Pennington has a village atmosphere, all of these entities should have been incorporated into one friendly consumer area next...

Great holiday place. Close to everything, if you really want to, you can park your car for the holiday and walk everywhere. The beach is walking distance and you are right at all the other necessities. Fantastic, very friendly and helpful manager,...
