Mike's Lodge Sodwana Bay — Hotel in uMhlabuyalingana Local Municipality

We had an amazing holiday at Mike's Cabin. (sleeps 6) Fully equipped and the little details were really great to make our time there comfortable.

I call it "elegantly rustic", from a coffee machine, airfryer and a potjie pot, decent pots and pans, and cutlery (I usually take my own non stick frying pan and veggie knife to any self catering place, but this time it wasn't even necessary).

The rooms are beautifully decorated and both have aircons, pillows are comfy and the bath towels are huge! The kids also slept very comfortably on the sleeper couches (there are fans in the lounge area).

The cabin is serviced every day, which was a definite bonus. The braai area and yard was also cleaned. (Mike's braai wood is also really good quality - can't go wrong there!)

The beach is about 15min drive, and best is to prebook entry especially in peak season-and make sure to budget for this too. Fees go up every year around November. (per car, adult and child).

Mike's attention to the small details and info of the surrounding area makes this a true gem in this part of the world.

We enjoyed our stay! Home away from home. The cabin really had everything we needed and more. The cabin is better equipped for loadshedding than my own house. There's enough lights in the house, loadshedding bulbs in some of the fittings and a gas stove, and the wifi works which kept the kids busy at night during loadshedding. Definitely...
