BOUTIQUE@MILNER GUESTHOUSE, BLOEMFONTEIN DID NOT HONOUR MY BOOKING. I have made a booking at BOUTIQUE@MILNER for an overnight stay on 14 September 2024. Said booking was made and confirmed on 31 March 2024. Upon arrival at BOUTIQUE@MILNER, there was nobody present at the establishment and everything was closed up. Despite ringing the bell constantly nobody seems to be available to allow us onto the property for our reserved stay. Upon phoning the number supplied for the guesthouse on the reservation confirmation a lady from a different establishment answered the telephone. She noted that the owner of BOUTIQUE@MILNER was out of town and no guests can be accommodated at said establishment. I informed her that we have a confirmed booking at BOUTIQUE@MILNER and supplied her with our confirmation number. I also supplied her with our receipt from received from Booking.com. She then once again said that the owner of BOUTIQUE@MILNER will not accommodate us and that we have to come to her place, but will have to pay for our stay since the original reservation was not made with them. We then had to seek alternative accommodation had to pay an additional R850.00 for the night's stay. The above resulted in me paying double for 1 night's stay because I have already paid BOUTIQUE@MILNER and then had to pay another establishment. Read moreWhile the room (4) was nice and the location was great, they are missing a few very simple items to make the experience better. Our room had a piece of plastic over a missing | broken window, the shower needs a shelf in it rather than using the floor, there was only half a toilet role and no spares on arrival.
When checking in we were offered breakfast at an extra charge, we declined and opted to eat out, on checking out to see if we owed anything, the invoice we had said we had already paid bed and breakfast, we should have checked, but it would have been nice if the check in staff had known this.
After we checked in and were shown our room, we went to the car to fetch our luggage, there was 4 staff in the reception, all on their phones and none made any offer to assist my wife or I, it looked like “home time”, so maybe they were not keen.
My wife asked at 7am on the whatsapp line if they had a hairdryer that she could possibly used, they replied much later that day, after we checked out.
Unfortunately we would not stay there again and would rather try somewhere else.

Read moreI travelled from Sydney to Bloemfontein and when I arrived was greeted by a staff member called Lee, she was well presented, fluent in English and very helpful. In fact was the only staff member that went out of her way to accomodate. I had forgotten my charger and she loaned me hers for the night, there was a power outage due to load shedding and she knocked at my door to give me a light. She was outstanding! The room itself was spacious but a little dated. The road was very noisy. I asked to be moved and Lee moved me to another guesthouse in Giles vd Wall Street, Dan Pienaar that was peaceful.
