Florentia Guest House — Hotel in Waverley

Our stay at Florencia's overnight accommodation was a delightful experience, meriting a solid four stars. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest welcome by a sweet lady (i cant rem her name), who was the epitome of kindness and hospitality. Her genuine care and effort to make us feel at home truly stood out, setting a comforting atmosphere that enhanced our stay.

The room provided was perfectly suited to our needs, featuring two single beds and a double, all of which were comfortable and well-maintained. The inclusion of a full bathroom added to the convenience, ensuring privacy and ease of use. Additionally, the room was equipped with a mini fridge and a small coffee station, both thoughtful touches that we greatly appreciated for our overnight stay. These amenities offered a level of comfort and practicality that met our expectations.

However, a couple of points did hold back our experience from being perfect. The room had two extra doors that were locked but led to the main house. We would have appreciated deadbolts on our side of these doors for an added sense of security and peace of mind. Additionally, the acoustics allowed for voices from next door to be heard, which could potentially disturb guests seeking a quieter environment, although it was not a significant issue for us as the voices did not persist throughout the night. Lastly, the steepness of the driveway posed a slight challenge when reversing out with our trailer, leading to a minor inconvenience as it became unhooked.

In summary, our stay was highly enjoyable, largely due to Florencia's exceptional hospitality. While there are areas for minor improvements, particularly regarding security features and soundproofing, these did not detract significantly from our overall positive experience. We arrived late Sunday afternoon for a 1 night stopover on our way to East Londen.. We also scheduled our dog to come with as the venue is pet friendly. We were given room 4 which also has a seperate side entrance that leads to the parking. Room 4 has a foul smell that seems to be permanent. There is a diffuser in the room that does not help. The bed is old and uncomfortable, sagging to the middle. At the side entrance was also a stinking dustbin for the guesthouse which was filled with garbage. There was also a filled garbage bag on top of it. And yes unfortunately also maggots. Lastly, the aircon was not working. We asked about it but nothing could be done about it according to them and they offered a fan. We were handed a fan thick with dirt from never being...

I booked a room at the Guesthouse from 1 to 4 June 2022.After my payment went through I called Annimika and requested a room upstairs informing her that I was going for an op.She agreed to give me an upstairs room with a little balcony but when we got there we were told that only the downstairs room was available. We had to accept it as it was already late and I had just come out of theater.To our dismay the room had an unpleasant odour. Even the bathroom. I sprayed my deodorant to get rid of the smell.Please can this odour be sorted for future guests..Mr P Home sells a diffuser for this issue..Otherwise everything else was fine.
