Be cautious with your values. During our recent stay at Future sanctuary , we encountered a highly disappointing and unresolved issue involving missing funds. On our first day, we discovered that $600 had gone missing from our room. Initially, we thought it could be a mistake, but just two days later, another $200 was missing, confirming that these funds were indeed taken.
We immediately reported the issue to the hotel staff, who assured us that an internal investigation would take place. According to him, three staff members were tested on a polygraph, which reportedly indicated no wrongdoing. However, despite our requests, we were not provided with any official report or documentation confirming these results, raising serious concerns about transparency.
This experience is especially disappointing, as we have stayed here several times in the past without any issues. This incident marks the first time we have encountered such a situation here. Additionally, the hotel staff did not offer any further assistance, such as suggesting we contact the local authorities or file a police report regarding the missing funds. This lack of guidance and support from the hotel only added to our frustration.
Since then, we have made multiple attempts to contact with GM, but he has been unresponsive, failing to answer our calls or messages. Only after messaging through booking com he again sent a what’s up message like: sorry, was busy, i have nothing new to tell. This lack of communication, combined with the absence of concrete evidence from the investigation, left us feeling completely disregarded as guests.
We have stayed at several other hotels on this same trip without any issues. This situation was isolated to Future sanctuary , and we cannot ignore the severe lack of accountability and professionalism displayed. As a result, we feel it is essential to share this experience to inform future guests about the potential risks and the lack of resolution if an incident should occur.
We urge travelers considering this hotel to weigh our experience carefully, especially given the unresponsiveness we faced in addressing such a serious matter.
I really love the comfort and vibe of this place. And i think that they needed to work on their staff...
Read moreOur last stop of our 3.5 week tour of the Western Cape was 2 nights in a room in the Villa Verte section of the hotel. It actually has 3 separate parts with the recent introduction of the 2 pod rooms in the forest (of which will try next time). Huge room in Villa Verte with a good sized balcony overlooking the forest below. Plenty of facilities on hand in the room with a great sized bathroom to boot. But this place is not about the room its about the whole experience and how it makes you feel that your watch is going bcakwards! Pool at the Villa Verte and pool at Maison Noir take you pick! Breakfast at either location if you want. Cup of coffee? just ask one of the butlers who will happily provide (Thanks Keith) Staying in for dinner than just let them know and they will offer you a menu choice and we did that at the communal table in Maison Noir. Glass of bubbly? Keith or Prosper will oblige. Great gym and the first one I have ever used on holiday. Steam room? Of course you can. Massage? Yep got that as well. How about a movie? Well you can book the cinema room and order fresh popcorn with your glass of fizz. What a place ! Big shout out to Andrew the manager for his friendly engaging chat and all the tips he gave us for our next trip (we are definitley doing the Karoo mate). 2 nights felt like a week and we dined out at La Colombe on the 2nd night. Definitley a haven to...
Read moreFound Sanctuary truly lives up to its name. It’s not just a hotel it feels like a retreat tucked away in nature. I stayed in the Garden Room, and it was absolutely stunning spacious, beautifully designed, and surrounded by greenery. Every detail of the space, from the decor to the atmosphere, was intentional and calming. The service was incredible, the food was delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that drinks, including wine, were included. That little detail made the experience feel even more luxurious.
My only issue and it’s a small one was the communal dining setup. As a solo traveler, I value having meals on my own, and all meals (breakfast, brunch, and dinner) were served at one large shared table. I ended up asking to have my meals in my room, which was a good alternative, but I do wish there had been an option to sit somewhere more private without feeling like I was crashing someone else’s conversation.
That said, everything else was perfect. I enjoyed my meals, took multiple relaxing baths, stargazed, and woke up to breathtaking mountain views. It’s a magical place, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for peace, beauty, and a truly...
