The newly opened campsite is in serious need of proper experienced management. The manager, Mariana is totally useless. She is very rigid in her approach when it comes to allocated camp sites. When we arrived, we noticed that the system allocated campsite was not caravan friendly. Eve, the male manager gladly swapped the site for the next door site and indicated that the sites are not booked as per a specific request but rather a random system allocation, and hence will not be a problem if the new guests arrived 3 days later. He said he did these swappes for a few guests already. Happiness was had for a brief moment. The next day, Mariana said that we need to vacate the site. The rest of the staff were baffled as to why she did this. Eve was also quite shocked as he already informed her that we were relocated and that it will not be a problem. She however did not budge. Other than this, the pools were green with algae and definitely not safe to be used. They however allowed the people to use these grass green pools. The algae were all over the water and the pool walls. There is no life saver on duty. No supervision by the pools either. Big kids were doing backflips in the baby pool and adults and older kids were playing touch rugby in the main pool. It is definitely not a safe environment. The resort speed limit is also not marshalled/policed. Vehicle drivers drive around the camp as if it's on public roads. The site plot allocation was also not matching the electrical points either. I had to point out the disaster to Mariana so that she could fix her mistake. This place is definitely lacking serious/dedicated management if the newly opened facility is to succeed. On a positive however, the place is extremely clean. The ablution facilities were nice and clean and well serviced. All the staff are very friendly and helpful (except Mariana of course). Unfortunately, we left a day earlier because we were instructed to vacate our site. We were also booked to return a week later for a further 6 nights (which we cancelled because of Mariana's negative attitude). I do not reccomend this park. Hopefully one day things will iron out and all staff are calibrated to serve the guests.

What a beautiful spot for a quick get away from the hussle and bustle of Cape Town, from the booking to the actual stay, we were pleasantly surprised.. Charne the booking personal is friendly and oh so helpful, we arrived late but were welcomed with open arms. The staff is absolutely amazing. The park has nice Grassy spots under huge trees which do offer shade during the day.. We had a river facing site which added to the tranquil ambiance, the bathrooms are clean and kept this way throughout the day, there is a clean washing up area as well. The kids park area needs some upgrading but what makes up for it is that each site has a little swing which the kids enjoyed. The pool area is clean and the water was absolutely amazing.. Security during the day and night is on point, they patrol 24/7..its one of the few places that one can still leave ur things outside after 1 too many drinks lol... Will defs be going back.. Thank you Klipriver Park

A group of 5 families were booked for December. Two of the families arrived a day early and the camp was not as advertised. River was not usable. the pool was green and overall just not up to standard. The camp owner refunded the 2 families, who called us and informed us not to waste our time as we will be seriously disappointed. Not wanted to change plan 24 hours before the start of our holiday, we called the camp ourselves and they agreed and promised to refund us as well ...3 times they promised over a matter of 4 weeks. It's two and a half months later and we have still received our refund.

We booked for 3 nights and only ended up staying for 2 nights as I had another personal commitment to attend to.

The facility is clean, bins and braai's get cleaned every day. Ablution facilities are cleaned throughout the day and the staff is friendly and helpful. On both nights we were there there were music playing but it wasn't at the camping spots next to ours so the music did not bother us at all.

The camp was recently reopened but it still needs a lot of work. The bathrooms/shower handles are broken and there were 1 of the ladies toilets that did not flush. All the lights on camp when out on Friday everything, but was fixed the next morning.

The river did not look as clean as on their website and social pages. There are two pools and they were greenish in colour and the pool has quite a bit of loos tiles and felt like rocks at the bottom so one can easily get a cut from it. It needs to be redone to ensure the safety of their patrons. Also no lifeguard on duty and there is a little popcorn stand if you need a snack.

Overall I enjoyed my stay, but there is some serious maintenance work to be done to ensure the pool and bathrooms are in proper shape and safe.

I will definitely go back, it is a...

Booking made for 20 - 23 March. I had to cancel as my vehicles tyres were stolen. I sent proof of this, showing my car on bricks. The other couple were down with some bug. I was offered alternative dates which I declined due to having bookings elsewhere. We camp often. Submitted a refund request form on 18 March.

It got declined on 8 April. Apparently that wasn't a good enough reason to get a refund.

If you going to steal people's money, put it to good use like maintenance. It seems like I am not the first nor will I be the last that this happens to. Am I aware of the cancellation policy? Yes. So don't copy and paste that as a reply, if you bother.

Am I abit sour? Absolutely.

My husband happened to drive through to Tulbagh to a client and stopped at your resort. The video of your establishment versus your social media - FALSE ADVERTISING.

I am actually glad we weren't able to make it.

Heaven help anyone that requests a refund.

Charne - lovely and efficient when making a booking and making payment.

Then I got pushed to Yves 'manager' who 'didn't receive any of my calls' - best response.

Now I'm waiting for Sharron 'manager' to return my...
