For our trip to Chuncheon, we prebooked an ondol room (they also have western style rooms) at the Chuncheon bears hotel through www.benikea.com. It is situated next to Lake Uiam and we got a room with a nice view on the lake.||Although the interior of the hallways, doors and exterior of the building are quite outdated, the room itself was spotless, Amenities like shampoo, shower gel and soap were complimentary. We also had a mini bar. This was our first ondol room in South Korea. Unlike the Japanese matresses, the Korean ondol matresses are quite thin so sleeping on the floor can give you quite of a back ache.||The man at the reception was very nice and we received a welcome gift when we checked in. There is also a large free parking lot available next to the hotel. ||The location is fine when you have a car. When you don't have one, I recommend you stay in a hotel/motel near Chuncheon centre. It is a few minute drive downtown. It is certainly worth going out there for dinner, because the dakgalbi (Korean bbq spicy chicken) in myeong-dong is one of the best dishes we tasted on our holiday.||In the end, we were very satisfied with this hotel: clean, affordable and good for a quiet...

Read moreWe drove to Chuncheon and stayed in this hotel. The view from the room and the general vicinity outside is very nice. ||||There isn't really anything in walking distance of this hotel, so you have to drive to get around anywhere. If you have a car though, this is certainly a nice place to stay. The lobby is great and the room was clean, though a bit outdated (the walls seem like they could use a refresher).||||One odd thing is that they have several parking lots with two being farther away. We stayed during the first real freeze of the season and over a weekend. We got back from dinner relatively early, around 7 or so, and there were no parking spots available at all in the main lot. The only spots available were farther away in their other two lots, which wasn't terribly convenient in the freezing cold. If you are prepared for this, it should be no big deal, but just felt it's important to know.||||Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if coming to Chuncheon by car. We got good sleep in the quiet...
