Bolton Hotel — Hotel in Gwangju

This was a fantastic, budget friendly option.

The price was about as low as I saw in Gwangju that wasn't a hostel or a "love motel." The location was great, within walking distance of the metro. The rooms were good and everything inside worked. Everything in the room was better than expected for the price I paid,

There were really only two negatives that I could think of. The first is that most of the staff speak little English. The person who checked me in and who I saw periodically throughout my stay had fantastic English, but other than him, it was pretty hit-or-miss. The other minor negative is that the free breakfast is basic at best. If you don't come down early many of the items will be out of stock, and there is very little variety. That said, it is a free breakfast that comes at a budget hotel price, so it is hard to be upset with that.

If you are on a budget, this hotel is about as good as it gets. Even if you're willing to spend a little more than budget, this place is quite nice. Highly...

We had booked a deluxe double room for 3 people and were told the day we were arriving that it wasn't possible. Trip contacted us to sort it out and we were ready to pay an extra room and sorti it later. But when we arrived, they surprisingly were very nice about it and didn't mind when they saw "reservation for 3 people" so we got a nice room for 3 people and they even gave us extra amenities (shampoo, shower gel...)We also had breakfast for the 3 people (which was also surprising as it said for 2) nothing amazing but fresh fruits and a few other things we didn't eat. The name has changed to the "Bolton Hotel". Overall, the rooms are clean and spacious. Good place to stay with kids or a family. Rooms have good soundproofing and breakfast was included with the stay. However, if you stay in a room with more than 2 people, there is a ￦15,000 extra charge per person. This is not a hidden fee, but the charge can be easily overlooked while booking. Despite the extra charge, for the price, our room for 3 people was quite exceptional.
