I recently had the pleasure of staying at La Almona Chica in El Chorro, and it was an incredible experience. This charming accommodation is perfectly situated right in the middle of the mountains, at the very end of the famous Spanish trail, the Caminito del Rey. The location is simply outstanding, is the ideal base for hikers and nature enthusiasts
The cottages are a perfect combination of comfort and rustic, creating a truly cozy atmosphere. The technology in this place is kept at a minimum, with only kitchen supplies and Wi-Fi available, it allows for a much needed escape from the digital world and connecting with nature. Because it´s the only connection that we need in here!
One of the highlights of my stay was the host, Ela. She is an incredible person, always very helpul and ready for a chat. She passionately shares stories about the past, present, and future of El Chorro. Her knowledge of the area and passion for nature were infectious, if you need recommendations for exploring the surrounding trails and attractions, she´s the one!
If you're an animal lover, for sure you will meet Kotek (i'm not sure if that's how it's spelled), a friendly and adorable cat who roams the premises. He always are looking out for cuddles and making you feel like you are at home. Kotek is not only cute and funny but also surprisingly alert and protective, creating a sense of security during your stay.
In conclusion, La Almona Chica is a remarkable retreat where you can escape the noise of modern life and embrace the tranquility of nature. From its perfect location on the Caminito del Rey trail to its cozy cottages and the wonderful host Ela, this place offers a memorable experience. And let's not forget the delightful presence of Kotek, the furry companion who adds an extra touch of joy to your stay.
Sometimes, the most remarkable experiences come to us unexpectedly. From the moment I arrived at La Almona Chica, I knew I had stumbled upon something exceptional.
Thank you, and hopping that we´ll...
Read moreVery nice, clean and cozy accommodation. The kitchen is also well equipped with plenty of dishes, a microwave oven, a toaster, vegetable peeler, sieve, etc. The operators make every effort to ensure that the guests can enjoy their stay. As our spanish is not that good we where happy to communicate in english. A hiking trail leads across private land to the climbing sectors and we enjoyed having no need for a car to reach a couple of hundred climbing routes. I think a special mention is also appropriate for the domestic cat. Kotec visited us every day and made our stay even sweeter. An incredibly lovable animal! He made our stay even more enjoyable and didn't make it easy for us to say goodbye...
Read more😊: Good location and cute little house with a comfortable bed. The resident cat is a great bonus!. 😢: Showering flooded the entire bathroom. The main reason for this review, however, is the host repeatedly hinting we should check out early. As we had a late night flight we didn't want to do this so decided to have a lie-in on the day of check-out, planning to leave by 11 am as stated in the booking rules. This was cut short when the host attempted to enter the house despite us being asleep in bed. She assumed we had left despite our car still being parked outside and clothes drying on the terrace. Needless to say this left us with a bit of a bad taste in...
