Culinary Oasis at Restaurante La Garganta in El Chorro Finding Restaurante La Garganta was like uncovering a hidden culinary treasure in the remote beauty of El Chorro. Having dined here twice, the restaurant has proven itself as a beacon of exceptional cooking in an area with limited options. Each dish we savored was a testament to the chef’s prowess. The tomato salad, featuring fresh garden tomatoes, was a refreshing start, while the grilled tomatoes topped with goat cheese married rustic flavors beautifully. The duck accompanied by confit apples was cooked to perfection, with the sweetness of the apples complementing the rich duck. The classic salad with an innovative cauliflower cream was a delightful surprise, introducing a creamy texture to the greens. However, the standout was the salad with grilled mushrooms and pine nuts - an explosion of earthy flavors that left us absolutely impressed. The stuffed cabbage was comforting and well-executed, and the secret iberico ham, grilled flawlessly, was a showcase of quality ingredients treated with respect. Restaurante La Garganta is a must-visit for those in El Chorro, offering dishes that are both simple and extraordinary, leaving you with the realization that sometimes the best meals are found in the most unexpected places.

Our server Marina was an absolute pleasure. We asked her while passing by in the street if she had recommendations for breakfast restaurants. She explained that La Garganta had great options, so we followed her there and she then served us super tasty croissants with ham and cheese, along with coffee for breakfast! We hiked during the day and later returned for a late lunch only to see Marina again - she recommended la tarta de la abuela for dessert and that definitely did not disappoint! The food, alongside beautifully executed service, was wonderful. Thank you so much for making our visit special! And a special thank you to Marina for being such a sweet, welcoming, and helpful server!

We didn't stay at the hotel, we only are at the restaurant after finishing the Caminito. Service was pretty good, the staff were friendly and we liked the atmosphere as we sat near the window with the view of the mountains. However, the food did not live up to expectations considering the prices. The salad was good but the meat dishes were over seasoned but somehow not very flavourful? We did enjoy the ice cream desert at the end though! Overall not a bad stop when you've got a few hours to kill.

The food here was absolutely amazing and great value for money. The site is beautiful location. The only problem I have here is the service, absolutely terrible apart from one girl who was good. We have to get up from the table 3 times to go to order things because the staff were inside sitting down on the phones. We ordered coffee and they bought the coffee and left the table with all the empty plates. If they fix the service then its 10/10

Good food for a little more expensive but no other restaurants in the area. Great view. We spent 50 euro for starter, main, 2 drinks and a bottle of wine. Nice setting in old mill factory and overlooking the dam. Excellent terrace next to the pool with great view overlooking the dam and the El Chorro gorge. Beers are double the price of the small cafe at the railway station next door but the setting is worth it.
