Stayed here for a week in our caravan. The plots are privately screened with small hedges. Shower/toilet block were very clean. Washing machine was 6 euros but held a lot of items, tumble dryer 4 euros. Used the restaurant twice during our stay. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. The on site shop was stocked with a good selection of items. Lovely to have the beach right opposite, to have a stroll on as we did have our dog with us. It would not have been the best for sunbathing on as it was littered with debris washed up from the sea, but there are beautiful stretches of beach along the coast in walking distance. It rained for most of the week we were there and there was strong winds but it was March! Alcossebra is a lovely place with lots of shops and restaurants . You can walk to shops along the coastline but it does take a good half hour from the camp site. The access road to the site was flooded and upon leaving we thought we may have difficulty existing but water receded and it was fine. One thing I found rather upsetting was the solitary parrot kept at the entrance to the site (for what reason I do not understand) who looked so sad and forlorn and was chewing at the branch it stood on out of boredom. No interactive toys were allowed in there as I asked at reception. Another small bird was kept inside reception in a cage alone. I felt so strongly about the welfare of this parrot that I e-mailed the reception on returning home, but very disappointingly have not...
Read moreOne of the best campings I've ever been, maybe the best one. Suitable for tents (flat gravel pitches) and campervans. Green and shadowed parcels of various sizes. Drinking water all around. Showers near the entrance from the beach - nice and working. WC and showers spacious, comfortable and clean. A lot of trees and beautiful decoration. Very good supermarket with good prices. Restaurant (haven't been to). They even have the hair salon. Pleasant staff at the reception. The pissibility to book a parcel on the website even for one day and couple hours before arrival was absolutely great and stress-free. Beach is just over the road and very nice, sea is warm and clean. Just one caveat: at the beach the bottom is nice and sandy, but 20 meters left or right there can be a lot of stones, one should just try where is better entrance. Beautiful sunset behind the palmtrees. We stayed only for one night but wish we could stay for a week. Love the place. To add, there are a lot of nice guests from Britain. We were there at the end of september, and the camping was very quiet and peaceful despite the places were mostly taken (but there were enough of free parcels too). Paid 30 euro for 2 people, car and tent on the smallest parcel, but it was...
Read moreI have been going to playa Tropicana in February and March for many years. It has always been a fantastic campsite, I would say definitely one of the best.||What a shame that this year standards have deteriorated somewhat despite extremely high prices. ||As we love Tropicana so much we agreed to pay 32euros per night somewhat reluctantly. Unfortunately we consider it to be poor value. The swimming pool was opened for the Easter period but emptied and closed again after Easter . The small indoor pool is open but too small for a proper swim. ||Over Easter there were groups of children banging on vans in the middle of the night. 2 of the vans in our group were dented as a result of this. It took several complaints before security dealt with this situation.||Generally the standards have slipped, the sight of a dozen or so cockroaches in the washing up area and also the showers is somewhat off putting. ||Sorry Tropi but we will find a different campsite next year. So sorry. We have had many happy stays at Tropicana but very disappointed this year. We will have to find another venue for our group in...
