We stayed here for over two weeks while shooting a feature film in the area. The place is an evocative old stone tower house, typical of this region, and magnificently modernized as an elegant hotel. ||||The staff is tremendously efficient and extremely kind. The food in the hotel restaurant-bar is very very good, a fine representation of the area's cuisine -- as evidenced by the fact that it fills up on the weekends with a lively crowd of families and locals. ||||Rooms are immaculately clean and fresh. Bathrooms are rather spacious by European standards. The mountain view especially from the top floor rooms is very invigorating. ||||Logistically the position is fantastic as well. There are two Target-style big stores just literally across the street -- an Eroski and a Dia. There is no laundry service at the hotel but the Eroski has an Ecolaundry self-service laundry branch. ||||(By the way, you will definitely need a car here in this area, as there are no taxis whatsoever.)||||I must mention the wonderful staff again -- they really made us feel at home here. I would not hesitate to recommend that you make this wonderful property your base for exploring the Basque region. Five very...
Read moreWe stayed here to visit family and we were so impressed. The owners and staff are so lovely and really do everything they can to make this a perfect stay. ||||The building itself if simply stunning. Its an old farmhouse, they have converted into a stylish and comfortable boutique hotel. The cigarette machine actually features a photo of the original building which is quite cool. The outside is lovely and gets lit up at night, is ideal for big groups too as there is lots of space. ||||The food is delicious and really good value for the quality and high, a la carte standard. ||||The room was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the underfloor heating and how big the beds and bathroom was. They provide nice shower gel and shampoo. ||The mountain town is beautiful so i hope they get some more tourisms as it is easy to get around on bus to nearby towns. ||||Would recommend to anyone visiting the local area - one of the best hotels I've stayed in the...
Read moreI stayed here at the beginning of my pilgrimage on the Camino Ignaciano because there were no rooms left in Azpeitia or Loyola. They were so welcoming and the hotel is beautiful, with comparable prices to the hotels nearer the sanctuary. Only 30 min walk from the sanctuary, too! The food was delicious and the room was clean, comfortable, and everything well decorated. I would stay here again -for a...
