As two couples, we stayed here fro 4 nights in April, booked ahead one day only. The price was very reasonable and upon arrival we were impressed with the friendliness of the check-in lady and then the quality of the building and rooms. Very tastefully renovated, the building is in traditional Spanish style, with wood and stone everywhere.||||Our room - whilst not large - had a comfortable double bed and a balcony overlooking the busy road. There's a lot of bustle about Treto but this calms down quite quickly in the late evening to the extent that we didn't notice it when we bedded down. The bathroom is tiny! One needs to straddlew the toilet to be able to close the door but having said that, it was spotlessly clean down to the last detail, especially where the bathe meets the wall - always the best place to retain grime. The taps and fittings are of very good quality, again shining with cleanliness.||||Breakfast was included in our room rate and was of excellent quality with plenty of choice of fruits, meat, cheese, yoghurt, croissant, bread, jams, etc., etc.. ||||So in summary, for the price charged this place is hard to fault. Oh, by the way, we ate in the adjoining Las Ruedas restaurant which was also a joy - see my separate review of that.||||So, if you need to be near Santander or Laredo, don't waste your time looking elsewhere, use...
Read moreThe hotel is in the middle of the roundabout, so car traffic is more or less constant. The mattresses are probably of the worst quality foam, they have no resistance. The covers are multicolored, something that questions their cleanliness. ||The air conditioner did not cool, and also brought in the smell of restaurant trash into the room. We asked four times at the reception desk for them to fix the air conditioning and they did nothing. ||We could not sleep between the bad smell, the heat and the inability to open the window because of the traffic noise. ||When we decided to leave after only half of our stay, the girl at the reception insisted on charging the total amount of the stay and told us that we could not wait for more for a 1 star hotel. (I think this girl has a lot of nerve) I think the hotel is too expensive for what they offer, they should not charge more than 45 or 50 euros a night if the stay is going to be so mediocre. I really do not recommend it to anyone, it is extremely unpleasant, you are better off at a campsite, at least you know what you are...
Read moreHotel was very run down, even the front door looked as if it was about to drop off. This Hotel clearly caters for visiting workmen, and not really very good for tourists. the decor is very run down and we had large holes in the ceiling outside our hotel door. even in the breakfast room the paint was hanging from the ceiling. As to the free Breakfast it was very basic and rather unappetising with not much on offer, the fruit juice was disgusting as it was very warm and clearly had not been stored in a fridge. we ate in the hotel Restaurant ( its actually a local bar next door ) the first night and it was not very pleasant we ate out on the second night. In fact if we had booked for any longer then I would have checked out and found some else. ||I can only say that it would just be passable if it was a last minute stop over to tide you over. But I could not recommend this...
