Pros: Clean hotel, nice small pool area, lots of selection in the breakfast (however, some items are not that amazing, you can find things such as frozen vegetables but not fresh smoothies)
Cons: During the first night I got an electric shock from a make up mirror with a light. Luckily I didn't get anything serious but it's not OK to get this from an electronic device. We got a new room but that's it, not too much apology.
On the last day we had booked an early breakfast package that included one bread, fruit, juice and a supermarket muffin. No coffee, a big tragedy at 6 am. I went to ask the person in the breakfast area if we could get some coffee (I saw the coffee machine was already on). I asked him in Spanish, I speak it OK. He didn't let me finish my sentence and started to lecture me how I am not supposed to enter that area before 7 am and that I must leave straight away. He was lecturing me like I was a bad behaving 5-year-old and not a paying customer.
I have worked in 5, 4 and 3 star hotels for years and in none of them we have lectured our guests. They might do things that are not so OK, then you tell them in nice & friendly way that unfortunately this is not possible but perhaps there is something else I could do for you. You always try to make the guest happy and make sure his/her expectations are met.
I was not asking for a private jet, I was asking for a cup of coffee. I have received hundred times better service from a 2 star hotel than from this 4 star "luxury" hotel. It doesn't cost anything to be friendly. I know extremely well how tiring and exhausting hospitality work can be.
I got a feeling they only want your money. Of course every accommodation service wants it, that´s how the business rolls, but you are not supposed to get that feeling as a customer ;) There is no warmth from the staff, not many smiles or greetings when you enter the building.
This is also a safety issue, the staff is not paying attention who are entering the hotel premises. Anyone can just walk in and take the lift to the pool. No room key is needed in the lift.
The best service was from the housekeepers, always saying hola in the hallways. Cheers to all of you and for all the hard...
Read moreI was staying with a company, we had a team event and I then extended my stay for leisure. So in total I spent a full week at Leonardo hotel.
My experience started really well: clean rooms, good breakfast, good lunch. However, the tea and coffee was replaced only once and water - never. Not sure if that's supposed to be like that but for 200 euro a night to have a bottle of water and tea everyday would be expected.
Towels: sometimes you get clean towels, sometimes not - depends on your luck.
I got sick in between, as the hotel was full and not sure where I got a cold. So at midnight I came downstairs to ask for a teabag (because I never got tea replaced) and some honey, to sooth my caugh. A night guard was extremely rude and not friendly - a big guy, I saw him a few evenings in a raw. He responded "The bar is closed" - well, how much effort it takes to cross a coridor and get a tea bag and a honey that are placed right in a drawer?! My night was painful, since I had absolutely nothing to help my caugh.
My experience with food was overall good, but I decided to try their Caesar salad - it was a disaster. It was disgusting, with anchovies, over fried chicken and lots of mayo. Although, their sandwich and entrecôte is very decent.
The last one - is a clogged sink. I thought cleaning ladies would report and because I was busy all week non stop and then very tired I kept forgetting to report to the reception. So, having a week long clogged sink is no fun either.
Then, the cherry on top - is some loud people next door. Rooms are well isolated in terms of soundproof but I kept hearing some base and super loud steps on Sunday from 11pm to probably 1-2h after midnight. Not a hotel fault - but probably making sure there is no noise is good.
Money vs value - totally a miss. Plus, it's quite far from the city center - 20-30 min by cab.
P.S. Special thanks to Mohamed - the bar tender. Really nice...
Read moreThe room was really clean and nice and cold. I loved the rainfall shower head and the towels were big and fluffy. There were no washcloths and no toiletries, just a 3 in 1 in the shower and hand soap. The blow-dryer was hard wired in the drawer and it barely reached my head.
The location is pretty far from the city and the transit had multiple stops, so we ubered. Typically a 5-10 min wait. But there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We actually found some really yummy places that were super cheap too! Laundromat right around the corner as well.
The pool was a big disappointment. It was a good size and there was a lot of seating, but the grout lines in the pool were full of green and black alge. It even stained my bathing suit after I leaned on the wall. The pool really needs some maintenance. The entrance needed a code and it was written on the key card envelope (in the room), but the reception failed to mention when we checked in. We went downstairs bc we thought there was an issue with our card, and got the code again. Got back to the pool and asked for towels to then be told they were at the reception. You would think that they would have offered them to us when we had to get the code. The drinks were really expensive at the pool, probably the most expensive drinks on our trip. And the bartender was really bad. He was trying to train someone else and he was even more helpless. Just slow and all over the place, definitely didn't know what he was doing. Watched him make 2 of the same martinis that were completely different colors and had to add to the shaker 4 separate times bc it didn't fill up the glass. It was agonizing to watch. I would suggest beer or wine there.
The food menu at the pool and the downstairs bar looked like it had a lot of items that were priced ok. We ordered room service one night and it arrived quickly. It wasn't bad...
