Took a trip inland to Baza area for three days, two nights. Virgen del Pilar was the cheapest that came up in the sort of location we wanted. The room was a good size with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Bathroom was a good size too with a walk in shower behind a screen wall although we didn't think the water was warm enough for a shower. There was a two shelf unit to the side of the sink, so plenty of room for all of Tina's bits and bobs. On arrival had to telephone for 'Maria' to come to let us in etc. Very helpful young lady who told us where all the local restaurants were including a pizza place literally opposite. Our room was OK the first night, but with the window open to the courtyard on the second night, some equipment that sounded like aircon units and washing machines made it a tad noisy. There is also a shared kitchen area with microwave and fridge to use which some guests had abused by leaving dirty washing up in the sink etc. Overall it was clean and tidy and reasonable value for money, location for us was good. 10 to 15 minutes walk into the centre of Baza. Parking again was OK in the street to the side, but can imagine you might not always be able to...
Read moreWe stayed here as it was on the way to Granada from Valencia. The single room was quite small but had everything that one would need and it was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine, and there was a good working heater as it gets chilly in the evening. There was also a TV in the room though I did not try it out.||The staff was very friendly and we were directed to an excellent restaurant, Casa Grande, just up the street. We were also pointed to a nice local place for breakfast in the morning. ||There is no on site parking but finding a spot on the street was no problem. ||We drove 5 minutes downtown in the morning to have a look around and were pleasantly surprised at the history and attractiveness of Baza. ||All in all this is a great stop for a day on your way to or from Granada and it is much cheaper than a comparable place in that...
