Cortijo Las Grullas — Hotel in Benalup-Casas Viejas

Beautiful local restaurant with hotel rooms. Visited for Sunday lunch.

Beautifully rare (ordered al punto) steak (solomillo). Tender, flavourful and extremely generous portion size. Cooked to perfection, note that this would be considered blue by UK standards (my preferred).

Huge salad (ensalada) with tuna (con atun). Very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit

Juan has a wonderfully unique disposition, possibly the original hipster waiter that most wait staff in hackney unconsciously model themselves upon.

We were eating there with a big group in june. The food was not bad and the service ok. However, we paid the bill and realized that there were several drinks which we did not consum. Trying to sort that out, the owner became very unfriendly. We strictly refused to pay them. while we said good buy to one of the guests of our group, we lwft the table for a few minutes. Meanwhile our almost full glasses of redwine were taken away. When we asked for them, the owner stated that he thought that we left already and hs been throwing them away. try to avoid this...

We spent three nights at Hotel Cortijo Las Grullas. The rooms are traditional but spotlessly clean and well maintained. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard where we had our meals. Breakfasts are substantial and very good and evening meals a combination of barbecued meats and traditional dishes.
