Let me start with a summary - it's a really nice place to go with SMALL kids if you are not particularly focused on cleanness. And, it's located in an absolutely picturesque place.||Now to the merits. The hotel is, of course, old, which means the rooms are of particular type - for instance the bedrooms in family room almost lack windows, there are just tiny ones, which do not let much light lest air in. It is IBEROSTAR, so there are corporate standards as regards guest service, you know what to expect. The location is amazing, 30 second walk from your breakfast/lunch/dinner table and you are straight on the beach in a picturesque gulf (Spanish: cala). Yet, you need a car to get to all of the tourist attractions in Majorca, this is the very North-East end of the island: it's far from everywhere (which also means it is a very calm area).||The pros:|- Service! :) The staff was ALWAYS very friendly, willing to help, though mostly speaking better German, than English. The DO work hard there.|- Food! Do not expect fine dining experiece, obviously, but it's been like two levels above average All Inclusive experience we usually had.|- Fun for kids! The usual IBEROSTAR stadards apply here: a lot of morning activities, afternoon kids parties and night show, which was always very fun! All great for SMALL kids (though teenagers not necessarily will be interested in most of these activities, though). Kudos to all the entertainment team, you are doing AMAZING job!||The cons:|- cleanness level :( The room was OK, cleaned every day, so was the dining area, but the pool area remained dirty all the time. There was always a lot of bird's poo everywhere, since the hotel is located in a pine trees park and there are many birds around. They do not have those big supermarket machines/rovers(?) used to wash the floor and it would be absolutely needed here. Once, I found a dead lizard next to the pool. Though it was qucikly removed by the service, they simply threw it to a flower bed next to some rooms! Like if there were no bins around... This I couldn't comprehend. Same with broken glass - guests drink a lot, of course (one perhaps important note: the hotel uses international alcohols for drinks like Bacardi, Aperol, Beefeater, etc.), so there goes a few glasses every night. Yet, the service cleans the broken glass superficailly (simply-they hand-pick bigger chunks of glass). As a result there were fragments of glass around many tables, particulalry in the show area.||- pools issue :( The pools look like poorly managed. There was visible dirt in the water, coming mostly from the pine trees. There were insects too and water was generally murky. The biggest problem, though, is that becuse of either the chemistry in the water or uneven tiles (or both) some kids developed shallow but open wounds in their toes. It was not only the case with our younger daugher but also her colleagues. Maybe, this was because of the extensive time she spent in the pool (like almast all day :)), but what supports the arugment that something was wrong with the pools was that when we came back all the swimming suits went from white to yellowish. This ia acutally a damage to our garment :/||Last thought- we stayed in an IBEROSTAR in Tenerife and it was clearly a much better hotel. One visible difference - the pool areas was cleaned every day, the staff was taking all the sunbeds back to store area and cleaned the floor. Maybe the lack of such standard here is because of what Majorca is, a top tourist destination, where the quality doesn't really matter, because guests will come anyway. But I thought so is Tenerife? :/||I'm not sure I will consider IBEROSTAR again for our annual...
Read moreMy family and I have just spent a week in Iberostar waves piños park. It was absolutely amazing. We felt good there and we are planning on coming back next year, God's willing. The staff is friendly, always smiling and saying hi whenever we met them in the hallways etc...They treat clients amazingly. They do everything so that the clients feel well and well taken care of. It's a very much appreciated change compared to where we live, where clients often feel that they are not welcomed. I appreciate also the fact that I did not at all feel discriminated against while I was there. It is very important for us dark skinned people since often, people make us feel as if we were from another planet.
We appreciated especially several points: There are water stations everywhere. So that everybody has access to portable water. A water jar with two glasses are available inside the room. So you can refill your jar whenever you are thirsty. -Cleaning ladies are available until 16:00. So you can sleep long. -They put diaper bins almost everywhere. A lot of activities are available for adult guests as well as children. Our children enjoyed the poneyriding, the make up for children as well as the miniglof. -There are at least 4 pools for babies and small children! -Cocktails and snacks are available all day long and are all included along with breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We had a family room, so there was a microwave, a fridge in the room. And on the balcony, a rack to hang the towels etc.. to dry. In the bathroom, we had a hair dryer. And amazingly, you have big tubes (not talking about the hotels usual mini bottles) of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap as well as body cream! So no need to make your luggage heavy by bringing yours. And guess what ? They refill them whenever they are empty.
Although the experience was wonderful there, I'd like to suggest some ameliorations. Kleenex boxes could be put in the clients rooms. In the family rooms, two sinks could be made available. One sink in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. So the families can wash baby bottles for example and not having to do it in the bathroom. -The sofa bed could be one big bed instead of two separated mini beds. Air stations could be placed in some spots on the resort. Like that we would not need to go to the nearby stores to inflate the floats. -Some activities like the make ups on children, and the foam party could occur more often in the week. -There were some people playing mini golf at night and they unfortunately had to use their cellphones lamps as there was no light on the parcours and they could not see anything. That could be ameliorated.
We recommend highly Iberostar waves piños park to families and cannot...
Read moreThis was our second big family holiday at Pinos Park in a party of 10, we loved it so much last year we - grandparents, parents and teenagers - all really wanted to go back. And it didn't disappoint!||The location of the hotel is beautiful, it feels like a jewel hidden away. There are 2 beaches within easy walking distance from the hotel, which was excellent for access for Granddad on a mobility scooter, the rest of the party swam in the sea from one beach to another for fun & exercise! The glass bottom catamaran picks up within metres from the hotel which was very convenient.||The the hotel itself is extremely clean & well maintained, but what sets it apart to us all is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble, everyone is efficient, hard working, accommodating and so friendly, they really want to make your holiday exceptional. We have been to previous hotels where it seems like too much trouble to get a table for 10 in the restaurant and we were told to sit on 2/3 separate tables, but not here. For every meal there was a table for us, or re-arranged for us to sit together with smiles on the staff's faces.||A big shout out to KRIS on the entertainment team who was so full of fun and energy, he lit up the stage, pool area or where ever he was. On our first day it was Kris' day off and we were worried that he had left, we were sooooo happy when we saw him back at work, especially the teenagers as they find him so entertaining, although he connected well with all generations! A big shout out also to FRAN, FRAN, Mojito Man who makes the BEST Mojitos (sorry for the underwhelming tip, I ran out of money!). It was one of the teenager's birthdays whilst we were on holiday, a piece of cake, some fruit and a note were delivered to the room. PAOLA on reception and a restaurant manager were so helpful and efficient in helping us to book & arrange the Birthday package for the evening meal, it was SUCH an amazing and special experience. We had a table booked and decorated for us on the upstairs terrace of the restaurant, the view was amazing as was the chocolate cake for 10 people! It all worked so smoothly and efficiently, I was a little worried as the booking wasn't even written down or done on a device, but it was all seamless. We were also really impressed that JOSEMA remembered the names of those in our party who attended the shooting club on Day 1, and that he came to say goodbye whilst we were waiting for our coach, even though he was in the middle of / just finished hosting bingo. ||THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER AMAZING HOLIDAY PINOS PARK, WE ALL REALLY WISH WE WERE STILL THERE AND HOPE TO...
