We had an absolutely amazing stay. The location is ideal—close to some of the best beaches on both the north and south sides of the island. The property itself is tranquil and beautifully maintained. The pool is large and inviting, with comfortable loungers that offer shade in the afternoon—perfect for relaxing after a day in the sun or at the beach. The poolside bar is also a great touch. The on-site restaurant is a must-visit. The crayfish ravioli was one of the best dishes we had during our two-week stay on the island. Breakfast was generous, with a buffet and a variety of hot menu options.

We did encounter a slight issue with our room at the beginning of our stay. We had booked a Deluxe Terrace Suite but were initially placed in a room near the hotel entrance, which lacked the privacy and tranquility we were expecting. That particular room’s terrace was situated right beside the entrance and faced the parking lot, making it feel less secluded. From what I could tell, it seemed to be the only room in that category with this issue. Fortunately, the staff went above and beyond to resolve the situation, and we were moved to a proper Terrace Suite for the second half of our stay—which was absolutely amazing.

The level of service from the staff was exceptional—it genuinely felt like five-star hospitality. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. It was a truly...

Having spent six nights at Hotel Rural Sant Ignasi I find some of the positive reviews on here hard to believe. The service and attitude of most of the staff is poor. From blaring out loud music by the pool at lunchtime (making it impossible to read), to cleaning the windows in the dining area during breakfast, you are constantly reminded that the guests are an inconvenience to the staff. Bathroom toiletries were not replaced and when I complained (it is normal in other hotels for toiletries to be replenished if used) the receptionist seemed to think I was being unreasonable! Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your room is your own, either - a member of staff unlocked my room without even knocking and opened the door while I was in there naked. Again, when I complained the receptionist seemed to think I was unreasonable - she said “We thought you had gone out.” Why would I be out? Am I not entitled to use the room I’ve paid for? I do not think this place is very safe, particularly given the remote location, and certainly for any women travelling alone I would recommend placing a chair under the door handle. I felt particularly sorry for the emaciated peacocks living here who looked in very poor health. They did not appear to be fed and one looked like it needed to see a vet for a growth on its neck. If you care about animals or your personal safety this is a...

The property is beautifully curated, and from the moment you walk through the rustic concrete entrance, it feels like you’ve arrived at the right place.

Check-in was smooth overall, though we both noticed the receptionist referred to my wife as “her,” which was not pleasant to hear.

In the room, some details were missing: no slippers or bathrobes, and no extra blankets or summer duvet for the cooler mid-September evenings. We requested one the next day, but it was never provided.

Breakfast felt limited in variety and not very well presented. Considering the level of the establishment, we expected more effort. Menorca offers such an abundance of excellent farm-to-table, local products, and it would be wonderful to see them featured more prominently.

We stayed in two rooms during our visit. The first, on the second floor, was smaller, beautiful view and cozy with a large bathroom. Later we moved to a deluxe standard room on the ground floor near the entrance. While it was bigger and had a lovely patio, the bathroom was smaller with no ventilation. Being right by the entrance meant constant noise and no privacy, we couldn’t keep the windows open without people looking inside.

Overall, while the property is beautiful, we left somewhat not fully satisfied. We expected more attention to detail and definitely more variety to the first...

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring, with easy access to both beautiful beaches and the town of Ciutadella. The recently renovated property was spotless. We stayed in a generously sized suite with a living area and both front and back terraces. Thoughtful amenities like daily complimentary water, robes, and slippers were a nice touch. The gardens are tranquil and beautifully maintained. The large pool is warm and inviting, surrounded by comfortable loungers that offer afternoon shade. We also enjoyed the poolside bar, which serves snacks throughout the day, as well as the tennis and padel courts, which we used daily. The on-site restaurant serves a very good dinner, though we found the portions a bit small and ended up dining in town most evenings. The breakfast was excellent, offering a great buffet and hot menu options. The staff's service was exceptional—it felt like genuine five-star hospitality. They provided great local advice, making our experience truly special. I couldn't recommend this hotel more.

Simply the best. It is an oasis in the most tranquil, honest and beautiful island. We were truly breathless when first driving up to Hotel Rural. From the careful design fit to be featured in Condé Nast Traveller Magazine, to the talented reception host who in her off season makes bespoke pottery, there is not one feature that we didn’t fall in love with. The pool is so relaxing, and the massage in the woods is not something to miss out on!!! I also did yoga in the woods and was brought to tears. Hearing the nature all around makes you feel miles away from home yet connected to your true spirit. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making this trip unforgettable. Oh!! The restaurant on site has a beautiful setting for Al fresco dining, delicious and sophisticated Menorcan cuisine,… although the owner/ maitre d’ seemed to be very busy doing the jobs of others, and not as relaxed as the atmosphere called for. That being said, I would bring my entire family here next time. A true gem of Menorca.
