Casa Lua — Hotel in Galera

If I could give this 10 stars, I would!

Having been to Casa Lua myself, I recommended it to friends who wanted to take their walking group of up to 20 people (originally to an area 45 minutes away). I assured them that once they had seen Casa Lua and all that the historic and incredibly friendly village of Galera has to offer, they would want to stay there. They spent 3 nights at Casa Lua, for the last of which I joined them for dinner.

From the 9 months leading up to the stay, messaging Martijn & Christel, the owners, to throughout the stay, everything surpassed the already extremely high expectations of the group organisers. The attention to detail, care and consideration was beyond anything you would normally ask, or wish, for.

The group had a bespoke breakfast and dining package previously agreed with Martijn. That too was phenomenal. I had the pleasure of joining them for the barbecue dinner which was absolutely divine - fresh, plentiful, varied, a number of courses served at perfect intervals, with everything and more that you could want. The meal was paired with local wines from one of the village bodegas that had been visited by the group on the first day, as arranged by Martijn. The peaceful setting just 10-15 minutes walk from the village with no light pollution makes for incredible stargazing.

Our stay included 17 people and we had additional services from the hosts such as airport transfer, yoga one of the mornings, 2 catered dinners, and loads of home grown veg was left for us to use, the hosts put in alot of effort and were very hard working, welcoming and understanding of any of our needs. Casa Lua is an absolutely stunning villa in a truly beautiful location. Christel & Martin really went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible, helping us with airport transfers, catered dinners and a number of other services. The Villa itself has so much to offer, all the spa treatments options are fantastic, the kitchen is great for catering to large groups and the cave bedrooms built into the hillside are cosy and cool in the hot summer months.
