Can Cocollona — Hotel in Girona

Stayed here for two nights in a 6 bed dorm with shared bathrooms.

Arrived here in the morning. The hostel is easy to miss especially as there’s not sign outside the house. The only sign is on the door, which is recessed, so easy to miss. The room wasn't ready, but that was fine because check-in was afternoon and I was going straight to Figueres anyway and I ended up checking in about 8pm. I was shown the dorm and around the hostel which has a kitchen, a living room with a large table and benches, plus a garden area with plenty of seating. The whole hostel is kept very clean, I was a bit apprehensive about a dozen people sharing two bathrooms, but it worked out just fine. Both the bathrooms were really clean despite being share with so many people.

The dorm was shared with 5 others, but it wasn't too tightly packed together. It had a balcony with a couple of comfortable chairs and to help with the hot summer nights, there was a fan and an air conditioning unit, so I was able to sleep despite the temperature,

Breakfast was included in the price andI thought it was good by hostel standards and for the price. Three types of cereal, fresh fruits, coffee, tea, cheese, bread, toast and even a orange juice machine.

Location wise, it's very close to the train station and about 5 minutes walk. It's about 10 minutes walk to the Rambla and max 15 minutes walk to the old town. Around the hostel are several mini-markets within a 5 minute radius, although it's about 10 to one of the bigger supermarkets.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay and if I'm ever in Girona in the future, I'd love to...

"+" Convenient location, next to the train and bus station, many restaurants nearby, etc. Late self-check-in is possible, which is very convenient. It was clean (room and shared bathroom), in the room - a large cooling fan, which made the temperature comfortable. Wifi worked well. It was convenient to communicate with the administration via WhatsApp. In general, a good option for ifair price, the only thing disappointing was the breakfast (read below).

"-" Paid towel (2 euros). I asked several times (2-3 times at booking.com messages and WhatsApp) that I would like to get the option of breakfast To go due to early check-in, which was confirmed to me. What a surprise it was when checking out to see only ready-made food (pie, boiled egg etc) without the possibility of taking it away. When I started to discuss this with the staff after checking out, I was told that they thought I wanted to have breakfast in the morning at the hostel (even though I clearly wrote "breakfast TO GO"), and the option of taking breakfast out with me was for an additional fee. To the staff's credit, they at least apologized for...

The place is good but the rooms were warm in the night. The location is pretty close to the touristy spots like just above 1 km. The place was cleaned everyday but the rooms were very small for 6 beds. The place let us keep the luggage even after checkout which was good. They provide lockers as well per bed free of charge but a deposit was taken for the key and lock of 2 euro. The place has a kitchen which can be used for quick meals. The breakfast was free and good as well you can ask for any changes to it as per your requirement like Veg...
