Casa Rural Osante — Hotel in Labastida/Bastida

We had driven from France via San Sebastian and arrived at the quiet oasis that is Casa Rural Osante. We received a lovely warm welcome from Anna, who showed us up to our room. The rooms are all comfortable, we were I room 7 which has the most incredible views of the room tops and mountains. Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 10.30 and is a positive feast, with cold meats, fresh tomatoes, toast, jams, fresh fruit, yogurt and the most delightfully light croissants I have ever eaten, they were delicious. We arrived on the 11th September and a lot of the local restaurants were closed, however we found a couple open and enjoyed the delights that they had to offer. My son and I traveled to Rioja and we found the perfect base to explore the area in Casa Rural Osante. Our room was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The main room, where breakfast is served, is spacious and very cozy. There is a sun room on the end overlooking the garden. Ana makes a wonderful breakfast featuring tostas of ham, cheese and tomatoes from the garden since we visited in September. We stayed here for one night en-route to Santander. It's a lovely old house which has been renovated with care & attention to detail. The room was perfect for us, the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean.Ana was a wonderful host and breakfast was good.|The only slight downside is getting to the house in a car as the road is one way and blocked by a retractable barrier, parking outside is also difficult although there is parking at the end of the road, a short walk away. Do not be put off by this, it's well worth the effort...
