Hostal el Palacio — Hotel in Molinaseca

Check in was easy when we arrived at this hostal. We were shown our room which was quite nice. The hostal is right on the Camino as you come into town. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had a shower and was clean and modern. After a certain hour there is no one at the front desk so you have to go into the bar to get assistance. That was not a problem except the people in the bar didn't seem to want to help. When it came to food we were only able to get a drink because no food was being served and the woman who waited on us outside seemed to be "put out" that she had to get us drinks. We ended up eating elsewhere because food wasn't served until about 7:30 - 8pm. and we had arrived about 1:00 pm The room was nice and we had a good view so all and all we were pleased. Stayed one night whilst walking the Camino. No lift (there is a disable chair access lift) but bags were carried up the steep stairs. Limited WiFi, large bathroom, reasonable sized room which was clean with comfortable bed. Note the restaurant is separate so any queries will not be answered there. ||We were on the first floor overlooking the river. It had been over 30 degrees and there was no air conditioning. The only way to get air into the room was to open the window which meant the noise from outside was even louder. The noise went on until after 11pm. Small village so convenient with restaurants, pharmacy and local village stores nearby. Breakfast was only ok and the service in the restaurant was hit and miss. Hot. Asked for a fan and told they don’t have any. I live in Spain so not surprised by noise. But this very noisy: bars (not just the one that is part of the hostal) heard every plate as it was stacked . Street noise and light prohibited opening the window door for air. Not to mention no privacy as my first floor street side room allowed the bed to be seen from the street. I had the menu at the restaurant.
