Hotel Sant Bernat — Hotel in Montseny

We really enjoyed the drive from Barcelona through the Monseny National Park, and it was lovely arriving at this peaceful hotel, with a warm welcome from the young lady on Reception. Our Catalan friends told us that they had bought a St Bernard puppy from here, and there was a large St Bernard dog to greet us on the doorstep of the hotel!||||By the time we arrived from Barcelona Airport, lunch service had finished, but it was no problem for them to make a bocadillo for us, with a local "English-style" beer.||||We had a delightful bedroom on the top floor, with views of the hills - and it was so quiet that we had a wonderful night's sleep.||||Although WiFi wasn't available in our bedroom, the signal was strong enough in the Reception area, to enable me to do e-mails and download a newspaper. WiFi is free.||||Sadly, we were disappointed with the quality of the food in the restaurant. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, but neither of us enjoyed the food. We will definitely return to this hotel - for the peace & quiet and the great walks - but we will avoid the Menu next time, and like another reviewer, will try the a la carte.||||Breakfast buffet was...

We stayed here one night in Autumn and it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is charming and unique and has beautiful views. The staff were friendly and the room was a good size.||||My only comments are the bed was a bit hard but not too bad, our reservation said room with a view but we got a view to the garden not mountains (could be more specific about that), the breakfast was ok - again not bad but not great - ok for the price of the room we paid though...||||Overall I really liked this place though for the rate we paid eg. around 100 euros per night and would consider going back for a weekend. It is in a very beautiful location with a lot of character. ||||Also we ate in the restaurant and the food was good - I wouldn´t say excellent but quite nice and the man who was working in there was very efficient serving and cooking by himself for people! The wine was nice too.||||The wifi is not very good at the hotel as it is connected by a satellite dish - for us that was ok as it was the weekend and wanted...
