This is perfect Camino hotel - right on the trail and with a good restaurant right next door. When arrived we purchased some wine from the owners, sat outside in the beautiful garden enjoyed the views of the ocean below while being entertained by their robo-mower. The wonderful owners are so warm and welcoming. They don’t speak English, but with the assistance of Google translate we all could communicate. Our room (#3) was large enough to stash stuff, which has been a problem along the route. Our room was spotlessly clean. There is no air conditioning, but the room remained very cool at night. There was a light on the street just outside our window, so we slept with eyeshades. The breakfast in the morning was very good, including made to order eggs and fresh squeezed...
Read moreThis was my favorite hotel on the entire Camino Portuguese. It was a beautiful hotel from the 1600's. Carmen and her cousins who run the hotel know perfection. Everything is done with detail and is amazing. Our room was fantastic, the beds were great, the shower water was steaming hot, beautiful towels. We has one window facing the Atlantic Ocean and the other window facing the beautiful cobblestone streets. Carmen walked us through everything, told us where to eat, showed us the the laundry room (with W & D--yaaay); the breakfast was done with a lot of love and care. They also have a "tea room" which is open 24 hours for everyone to use and stocked with cookies, tea/coffee. Oia is a small village and so everything is walkable. I want to come back...
