Staying at Les Cols is a unique experience. Nothing to do with a luxury hotel, it’s a completely different concept. An amazing design of RCR Architects, the pavellons are glass cubes, with a very sober design, that seem inspired by the zen / japanese culture, where you can enjoy the surrouding nature at its best. No tv or music, because they would spoil the very intimate contact with nature you feel inside the pavilions. The bath-shower area is a real gem. It is worth going to see the orchard, very relaxing as well. ||Service is very kind, punctual, and extremely helpful. As soon as I asked if there were mosquitoes, they lent me an electric repellent.||We have offered Les Cols as a wedding present several times, and it has been very appreciated.||||A suggestion: The remaining cheese and sausage from breakfast are put in the picnic bag.... but it’s impossible to cut them with the wooden knife that is provided. So it would perfect if the staff could cut it befere putting it in the picnic bag, or they should provide a suitable knife. Just in case, bring a utility...
Read moreThis place is utterly baffling in the worst way. Not a simple shelf, coat hook, chair, nothing. For those in search of a way to associate with nature, I encourage a walk in nature over this absolute strange and disorienting experience. I was not sold on having to wash my face or brush my teeth in stagnant water without a faucet. The bed was strangely on the floor and no softer than sleeping on the glass floor.ill give the shower head a solid 9/10 but having to stand on sharp rocks whilst showering was a 1/10. It was also super bizarre to have to use the toilet in a toilet that resembled an airplane toilet. Lastly, mosquitos and the sheer heat of this place were utterly unbearable. If you like waking to the sound of trucks on a highway, well then, this is your place! Truly just the most strange, uncomfortable, and stark experience we have ever had. Would never return. Instead id go camping which would probably be much more cozy and sanitary somehow. Best of...
Read moreWe arrived here in the middle of a downpour and had to sit in the car for over an hour because the street was like a river. When we finally made it to the hotel, after we entered the room we were told that we would not be able to stay because the food had knocked out their power systems. It was like gaining admittance to heaven and then being told that you had to leave because it was all a mistake. The room was the most interesting modern hotel experience I would have had and it was attached to the Les Cols restaurant, which was the purpose of my visit to Olot. Brenda was very nice to us and apologetic about the situation and put us up in another hotel at their expense. I would have loved to have been able...
