This hotel was perfect for several reasons. ||If you are walking the Camino de Santiago from Portugal, it is literally right on the pilgrim’s route and on the north side of Pedron, closest to your continuation to Santiago.||The rooms and facilities are more than adequate, and the staff was very friendly.||The most exciting part which was completely unexpected was the level of service we received from Marco, who was in charge of the RESTAURANT BRANDAL. Originally we had hoped to have our dinner at their other Michelin star restaurant as a Camino treat to ourselves, but it was booked and so we were given a reservation at Brandal. Not only was Marco one of the most attentive waiters we have ever been with, but he gave us a personalized service, a wonderful wine pairing, and one of the best gastronomic experiences we’ve had now in several trips to Spain. Thank you for making it such a special date night for me and my wife during our Camino. We both highly recommend you take advantage of this...
Read moreThe hotel has seen better days, but the price is reasonable for what is provided. We had a room which was much smaller than the picture and the walls were so thin we could hear everything next door, including the TV. The room had no view (just of the wall of another building) and the smell of cooking came in through the open window which was unpleasant for us. I think we were just unlucky with our room. Shower was good. We only stayed for one night and I would be disappointed if I had to stay longer. There were no vegetarian options on the menu for the bar or restaurant (surprising considering the size of the hotel) so we had to order a pizza from Padrón instead. If you are on the camino and arriving in the afternoon, it will do just fine and you get a slightly shorter last day which you'll be thankful for when you see the hills you are going to have to walk up to get to Santiago! Lots of luggage being left in the morning from various groups and trips and it seemed disorganised. We were told to store it in a room but there were cases everywhere and I was a bit concerned that ours would be missed but...
