I camped here on the night of 14th-15th september. This camping spot is officially closed, no idea if it will reopen someday. It's not maintained but still useable. I asked for information, where I was told to go wildcamping aka 'pernoctar' instead, which is allowed above 2000m and 500m away from buildings and only between 8pm-8am. However, on this campsite there is no clear sign indicating that it is forbidden, instead there still is an older 'rules of the campspot' paper. It says camping allowed for mountaineers with a mountaineering association membership + a fee of 12 euro per person. I asked other campers present, they told me no one came asking questions.. so we stayed here for the night for free, nobody asked questions. Stars are really beautiful when the clouds disappear and the moon is not there yet. The vall de nuria building remains open during the night where you can use the toilet. Next to the toilets there are small lockers in which we put our camping gear before going for the Puigmal summit. The lockers use 'tokens', there is a machine vending these tokens for 2 euro per piece, it only accepts 0.5, 1 and 2 euro coins. There is a bar where they sell pasta, sandwiches.. at reasonable prices, beware everything closes around 17h00. At night the cows roam freely around on the vall de nuria terrain, also on the campsite if they want. We did the puigmal summit and back in 6 hours total (easy pace). I advise hinking sticks to keep balance on the steep slopes. We saw marmots, eagles, moutain goats. On the path back Nuria-Queralbs we saw a small adder besides the path just before the old Roman bridge, so beware.
