Booked a room from the internet with a two hour notice time after already staying for a week in Cala del Moral. It was my only choice nearby and also the cheapest, so I had some doubts. After entering the much nicer than a two star reception and restaurant area (I've been in four star hotels that were worse) the receptionist, who did not speak that good of english) took some time to find my quite recent reservation but luckily finally found it.||||The room (last one free) we got was a very basic internal (window to an inside shaft, so extremely quiet)) hotel room but we were lucky to have a room with such a late notice. However this is where the positive things started. The WC was very clean with a nice small bathtub and bidet. The water was as hot as one wanted with nice pressure. The free air conditioning was as effective as one wanted. There was a small full hd TV with tens of channels. The WIFI worked with no problems for the whole week. All the public areas were very clean every day.||||The rooftop terrace was very, very nice with a sea view and a lot of plants and different chairs. Once you talked a bit to the receptionists they turned out very nice. We had some problems with the bikes rented from the hotel so we got them for free in the end. The hotel was located at the village main road with a nice large supermarket next to it and everything else as well. The nice beach is basically next to it and buses to Malaga also leave next to it.||||If I would have one bigger thing to complain, it was the mattresses, that were quite hard with some springs protruding from them and caused some discomfort - this is an issue the hotel could easily and cheaply solve. And should. But overall I was very, very pleased and will probably stay there again, if going back to the very nice and quiet village of...
Read moreWould wholeheartedly recommend a stay at Hotel Maria Cristina. Ideally located for using the unspoilt beach. Great value at €35 per night , would grade as a 2* Accommodation.|Very helpful and welcoming staff. The bedroom 210 was clean and functional but slightly dated but good value. Breakfast was available but slightly expensive at €6 (considering the price charged at a local cafe/bar) Be sure to book a car parking space as only 4 available. There is local parking if required and we could see no problems should you not want to pay the hotels €10 parking charge but this could be a problem in the busier summer season, ( we stayed in October ) . |Was a bit disappointed that the Bar in the Hotel closed a bit early at 11am (early for Spain), but the drinks we had were extremely good value. |All in All a good experience especially for those looking for a comfortable ‘budget’ Hotel in the centre of town with easy walking distance to the unspoilt beach....
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for a week mid-October.The hotel was spotless from the reception to the bathroom. We had a very comfortable room with a great balcony. We only had to ask once for/ about anything and it was immediately sorted. The breakfast is Continental but there is a great selection to choose from. There were no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room but there is a cafe on the ground floor and we enjoyed coffees which we got there and brought to our veranda to enjoy. There is also a super roof terrace with plenty of chairs/ lounges to relax on. With a short walk to the beach and terrific walks we enjoyed the sunshine and atmosphere very much.We were yards from a bus stop which takes you north to other towns/ villages and south to Malaga. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - it was a little piece of Heaven. Thank you to the staff who were...
