I recently stayed at your hotel, Garcas Hotel, in Santiago de Compostela for a two-day conference, and I wanted to share my feedback regarding my experience.
On a positive note, I found my room to be clean and comfortable after the first day, which I appreciated. However, I was very upset to discover that when I returned to my room, my personal belongings, including my clothes, were missing. Since I was staying for two nights, it was quite alarming to find that my items had been removed without any explanation.
When I raised the issue with the receptionist, I was told that the cleaning staff "may have" taken my things by mistake. This response left me quite disappointed and concerned about the security of personal belongings in your hotel. I understand that mistakes happen, but I believe the response should have been more proactive and reassuring, rather than speculative.
I hope you can address this issue, as the experience left a negative impact on my stay, despite the otherwise pleasant aspects...
Read moreShoddy, smelly, no AC, and without a doubt the worst food ever. I ordered a beef fillet steak, the meat was as flat and wide as a piece of A4 paper, sent it back, ordered a mixed salad, had slimy asparagus and a tin of tuna cat food on it, sent it back, ordered a cheese and ham sandwich, cheese was strong, probably off, sent it back. Eventually requested bread and butter, they can’t ruin that? But they charged me for even a tiny scraping of butter too.||Tried to reason with them over the costs, they were very hardline and not polite at all, basically the worst hotel and hospitality a man can find. The rest is up to you. P.S, get a chef who knows how to cook, and turn that bloody phone off in the restaurant, and don’t host late night football games, place was like a stadium, jokes!!!!!||P.S, you can’t even cook French fries,...
Read moreReally convenient for late flights. We arrived at midnight and caught the 6a bus from the airport and it stopped outside the hotel - just 1 euro, a couple of stops. Room was clean and bed comfy. You could hear noise from other rooms - light sleepers beware! It was just a 'bed for the night' for us, on our way to start the Camino. You wouldn't want to base yourself there as Lavancolla has nothing happening. Cafe was ok. We had coffee and they were friendly and coffee was good. Be warned - I'd read a ton of comments about buses to Arzua and Melide stopping outside the hotel. We assumed that meant all of them and booked a Lavancolla - Melide ticket for 9am. The bus we booked (monbus) drove straight past us. We looked online and only some appear to stop - we walked to the Lavancolla stop and waited 2 hours to get...
