After a long days walk on the Camino, this restaurant really hit the spot. First off, it was nice to sit in a quiet restaurant with real tablecloths and wait service. We began our meal with gin-tonics and a starter of predon peppers. Delicious. My husband also had a bowl of Galician stew. For our main course my husband had essentially a steak with fries. I can’t remember the Spanish name. He ordered it medium rare. It came out more rare than expected so he asked for one more minute of cooking. Our server cheerfully took the plate and brought it back. The steak was now cooked to perfection. I had the salmon with potatoes and a salad. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The salmon had a nice crispy crust built with no char and very tender interior. The salad was so tasty. We complemented our meal with a bottle of house wine. It seemed by the label to truly be a house/very local wine and it was delicious. What made the experience so special was our server, Keuin. Keuin was friendly and charming. He spoke English well. He took our order with good cheer and patience. He served the food promptly and took back the steak to have it fixed to my husband’s preference without blinking an eye. It was so nice to be treated so warmly and with genuine care. We highly recommend...
Read moreWe were staying at Albergue A Fabrica, which is wonderful, for our final night of the Camino before Santiago and visited this restaurant three times. All three times Kevin was our server and he was excellent. We arrived in town before the albergue opened so stopped in for a beer. Despite obviously being on the trail for 25 kilometers, Kevin welcomed us warmly and brought our drinks out quickly. I returned for a snack and again had great service. Finally, we returned for a proper dinner and happily saw Kevin. He was patient as we ordered things other than the set menu and not in the most orderly fashion. The scallops were great. The avocado and burrata salad was huge and delicious. The mains of pork loin with mushrooms and secret pork with crispy arugula were also great. We finished with homemade Santiago cake and chocolate bread pudding. Then I ordered a café con leche as we were still taking and Kevin provided that without a hint of impatience. They also had a good selection of wine and we enjoyed a good bottle of godello. The outdoor seating is simple but there was always a shady spot protected from the wind all afternoon and evening. The inside looked nice but we...
Read moreThis is a fabulous place to eat after a long day's walking on the camino. I ate with 2 people from Canada whom I'd met that day and we had the peregrino's menu. There were 4 choices for starter and 4 for the main course. I chose the Lubina a la plancha (sea bass), which came with chips and vegetables. The desserts' choices were also very appealing and I chose the local chocolate tart. The waiter (owner), whose name I've forgotten, couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and was fluent in English. The meal also included a drink...wine/beer/water etc. To top it all, we were given shot glasses and 2 bottles of local liquors and told to drink as much as we wanted! All this for 16 euros! A fantastic place, great food and service. I can...
