Hotel La Torre del Visco — Hotel in Valderrobres / Vall de Roures

La Torre del Visco is, to me, one of the most welcoming places I have ever been.

The property has all you need to feel at home: a peaceful environment surrounded by an olive grove and acres of forest; gardens to rest and refresh in the pool; books and bright corners in the house to sit down and relax; a wonderful wine cellar and beautiful rooms. Also, if, like us, you are more of the active type, there are trails to run starting at the property, climbing areas just a few minutes drive away, and canyons and trails in the Natural Parcs of "Els Ports" and "Tinença de Benifassà" within a slightly longer drive. However, what really makes the difference is not the building or the activities, but the people filling the place. From the gardener to the owner, they are all fantastic people willing to share the beauty of the place with us.

The restaurant deserves a special mention, and the gastronomic experience is truly amazing. Ruben, the chef, really shows in the menu the respect he feels towards the products of the territory. Each course was creative in the way the ingredients were presented, and it was fun to find the vegetables we just saw in the garden on our plates and identify known flavors in creams, foams and broths. Also, do not miss the opportunity to taste some of the wines they have on the list; the sommelier will help you find something that matches your taste, and the waiting staff is lovely and really knows the products they serve.

We arrived to this charming place - by chance.||Before going on holiday in Spain we were looking for a place in nature, with good food, and with good conditions. We certainly got what we wanted and more .||We arrived on a rainy day in March, on an unpaved road and we were greeted by an ancient house in the middle of the forest - everything is green all around.||The staff who greeted us were super nice and helpful. We got the charming room, and a tour of the hotel. The place was built with great love - it shows in every place. The restoration done to the building took many years, but the result is simply outstanding. Every detail was given attention. The public area are cozy, beautiful, and inviting. The balconies were facing a beautiful view (unfortunately we couldn't enjoy them because of the rain) ||The wine cellar is with great offer of wines, in deciding which wine to take help us the sommelier - with a huge knowledge in wines.||Dinner was cooked in front of us. We were lucky and got to eat at the wide table in the kitchen, in front of the chef - it was an extraordinary experience.
