Apartamentos Charco del Conde — Hotel in Valle Gran Rey

Based upon the existing reviews We were expecting something acceptable, but unfortunately it didn’t even achieve that mediocre status. I can’t speak for all of the apartments since we later discovered that most are privately owned. |Upon entering, we opened the curtains to the only source of natural light, and were immediately greeted by an elderly gentleman taking a selfy (+ us) by the pool. The apartment is at the same level and directly in front of the pool - with a bit of runway I might actually make it in the pool. Although the kitchen was newly renovated it seemed as though the mattress, curtains, terrace furniture, lighting, bedding and bathroom hadn’t been changed since the place was built. |Taking into account all of this, we immediately decided to search another accommodation and cancel our reservation. With investment, I guess this could be great. Small apartments on 2 floors round the pool, we had a view directly out to the beach and the fabulous sunset. ||||However... wifi didn’t work (they said it worked round the pool and common areas, but not true). Very uncomfortable beds (2 singles pushed together) and sofa. The kitchen was very basic. Receptionist spoke virtually no English. They hand you a TV remote with your keys and you have to hand it back - obviously they are concerned that someone will steal it! ||||Having stayed in hundreds of hotels and apartments, it’s a first for me to be making a big deal about door locks! The outer door and the door to the apartment itself were opened with just the action of turning a key, rather than a door handle. The keys were unbelievably hard to turn - good luck if you have arthritis or your fingers...

Apartments are very good and clean , lovely pool for adults and small children.||Reception helpful only thing was we were not informed too collect tv panel if we wanted it. Automesa the transfer connection I booked were excellent which was advised by the apartment reception they were waiting at all our transfer points. And had a great time with Oceania who took us out whale watching they were the best as they consider the whales and dolphins and there environment which was fantastic to see them in a natural state. There is lots to do and see rainforest and walks will have to go back as only had a week there. There is a spar a few minutes walk from apartment and there is a shop sells fresh bread and other items next to apartment. I would give it a rating of four on everything as it scoring won’t let me...
